It's not the spores that die at 106F, because thats the thermal death limit of the mycelium. So, no not some kind of freak miracle. Ive stored my spores at high temps for 6 months and still have em work on me.(I wouldn't call this an extreme hardship though)

This explains that mushroom spores are 'built' to survive extreme drought, and with the drought, ofcourse lots of heat (and no rain)
