Should one dunk if cakes are resting on perlite?

Hey, afoaf has a bunch of cambodian cakes 2x-end cased in his perlite-powered poor man's pod sitting right on the perlite. Two cakes just yielded 59wet grams, and they still seem to have a good deal of water weight to 'em. Think he/she should dunk?
