I would use the SOS tek and case half of each cake in a solo cup. This way you have 4 different casings and are less likely to lose all to contams. Make sure you bake casing first to steralize.

Why not let half of your cakes sit in the terrarium without casing for the first flush, and use the Sea Of Shrooms tek to case individual half-pieces of the remaining cakes. You could try to rehydrate the non-cased cakes with the straw-tek, or use the double-ended casing tek (see www.fanaticus.com)...

I suspect the SOS tek with vermiculite-only casing (sterilized) is the most fool-proof method besides straight cakes.
