A little on U.K laws.

As U.K residents are probably aware, the law is sketchy as best when it comes to mushroom cultivation. At the present time it appears legal to cultivate and or sell fresh mushrooms, but illegal to dry them, as this is considered a form of processing and therefore considered illegal.
Both psilocybin and psilocin are controlled Class A substance's so the processing of these can carry pretty high sentances.
Though, even this is rare in the U.K , as most people are simply cautioned if caught selling dryed Mushrooms.
That being said, our courts are somewhat of a lottery, depending on place, time and judge and jury
With the increase of mushroom cultivation and head shops selling kits and fresh shrooms, this could change over night. So caution is better than recklessness i.m.o.
Here is a link that is worth reading, please add any thoughts, news and links to this thread. As in this ever changing word, we needed to keep up on the current trends.
Some data on U.K laws.
Good luck all, and happy shrooming, for now we seem to be safe.

Nice work Paid.
Like you said if anything of this nature goes as far as the courts then it is entirely down to the judge and jury at the end of the day.
Personal Experience:
A friend thought it was a good idea to find out about the legal status of shrooms by asking a policeman - while under the influence
He got arrested for possessing a controlled substance - he had about 300 dried libs in a baggie. They slung him in a cell 'til he sobered up, gave him a caution and sent him on his way. Wasn't even referred to the CPS.
A caution is like an official warning for a small misdemeanor (*sp). I have one for urinating over a Marks & Spencer shop window. I was very drunk.

nice nice. just thought id expand on this a little.
like the man said, while fresh shrooms are technically legal the laws are vague at best. the vast majority of police officers will still try to arrest if your caught with fresh although you'll probably get off the hook (got taken down the station myself once bastard nicked my shrooms!).
as for growing its pretty much the same but ive heard storys of people getting done because of the mycelium. (claiming they're producing psilocybin no doubt) so while it is pretty much legal youd better watch your back any way.
its also interesting to note that opium poppies and peyote are legal here. unsure what other plants may be though.
