one mushroom on cake?
    #1791324 - 08/08/03 09:44 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

My friend birthed his cakes about 3 days ago, and they are starting to pin, except for one. It has a completely matured mushroom that is 4-6" long with torn veil and everything! But here's the problem, it's the only mushroom on the cake and the other cakes are pinning nicely. I'm using perlite and spray bottle for humidification.

If the veil is torn, harvest it. Sometimes cakes will have one, sometimes they will have ten. What strain is it BTW?

Ah, B+ is known for that. It tends to give all it's energy to one fruit sometimes. My friend has got some pretty large fruits off of B+ cakes. A couple of his cakes had more even growth. Most of them have several pins, and one shroom seems to always take the lead and get big, while the others stay pretty small.

I totaly agree.

They give all the nutrients to the strongest growing mushrooms to make sure that the spore will make it with out any problems.

Is this truely a trait of the strain, or are all cubies like this? If they all are is B+ just more that way than the others? I have read that this is a B+ trait, I just thought others experiences would be nice to hear as well.
