Carvantes, I realize that you firmly believe "a cube is a cube" which is literally true but they are not all the same or else they would all consistently look alike but these so called "strains" differ from one another consitently. So what I'm saying is, yes all cubensis are cubensis but the "strains" all have a pool of genetics with some dominant genetics that are consistent so that most of the mushrooms that grow from the spores of a certain strain will look similar or grow similarly. I see you are a "trusted cultivator" so obviously you know what you're talking about and you have much, much more experience than most people here so I trust you and your opinion but I am not asking what strain is best or which will yield 5 pounds or be super potent because the factors that control those things are up to the cultivator and the genetics of the spores you have but I am asking what people's opinions are on these different varieties and what they liked the best because I want to have a good idea of what most people think of the different sets of genetics offered by these strains. I mean no disrespect to you by saying this, it's just my opinion and thoughts on the whole a cube is a cube thing.

the strains differ from strain to strain

and even within the strain name

because spores are pretty random. i like to compare them to sperm.

if 2 black people have a child, it will most likely be black.

it might be smart, it might have downsyndrome

hell, it could be albino!!! phenotypes are pretty random. i think.

I realize that and you are confirming the main idea of my last post, flushes differ from grow to grow even from the same print or syringe but they all have generally the same look or characteristics.

I doubt you fully understand why I have a TC tag. I also doubt you fully understand why I say a cube is a cube.

I am quite interested in cube strains and their differences. But the only differences which have been scientifically verified are the ones we can see with our eyes, not the ones we feel with our bodies.

Asking about which cube you should choose is like asking what pot pipe you should buy. Get the one that interests you. They will all get you high. Everybody else will have a different opinion.

Anyway, here's the link to my strain profiles. Read the first three posts before you underestimate my interest in strains. I think it may be what you are looking for.

I don't fully understand either of those things and I'm sorry if I seemed to disrespect you because that was not my intention. Thank you for your responses and contribution to this community though.

Not at all. I am just saying I spent years studying the differences in strains and the conclusion I came to after all that research was what everyone had been saying all along. A cube is a cube. It was not what I set out to prove.

Not many people earn their TC badge for research. I have never used agar. Never grown a monotub. Only multispore. I have only ever grown what I needed at the time.

But, I have studied the hell out of strains.

The fun of cultivation, to me is not finding the best, but watching the differences from grow to grow.

I can promise you this: eat enough cubes and you will trip. Grow enough and you may trip more than once.

Okay well then thank you for informing me, as you can tell I am new to this but I would like to follow a path similar to yours because I am just curious as to how they grow and which I like best. I am growing all of the strains I listed above I just wanted to know which I should start with and I think I will start with P.E. and Cambodian just because I like the look of P.E. (no homo haha) and I like the history of Cambodians. I assume you've grown golden teachers before so I have a question, are they consistently less potent because that seems to be the general consensous. I understand that is completely up to genetics but more often than not I have read they are less potent.

I love GTs.  They always worked fine for me.

...but then they were my first grow, so I was very happy.

Has anyone had any luck with John Allen's? I cased mine in 50/50+  about a weak ago. They took almost a month to colonize at room temperature. The good thing is the mycelium appeared to be very strong, when I sliced them for casing I actually felt resistance and could hear a definite tearing sound. all of the BRF cake slices stayed together and were not easily breakable by hand they almost reminded me of hockey pucks! I'm wondering what the quality of fruits and yield for this strain is any information is appreciated.

They are cubes and they grow in cube-like contlditions. They produce cube fruits. Eat enough and you will trip.

:mushroom2: B+
Is it true that B+ Strain is a Cubensis cross-breed with an azure???

I read something like this, but it seems there is a lot of controversy surrounding this claim.

AT FIRST, I didn't believe it, but I recently saw a small, outdoor B+ grow, and the pictures were kind of fascinating... they looked almost as slimy as a pan. I was fascinated because they actually looked like they were some sort of cross-bred species. If that was what all the B+ I've ever seen looked like (it wasn't), than I would say it is true, that they are cross-bred species.

THE ONLY THING: is it even possible to cross-breed the two?

SORRY, if this question has been cleared up in the past, but I still have yet to find out if this is the case.

Many cube strains are over-hyped.  All cubes rock though.

(who made "z strain" and all the other oddities?  Shooting Stars, etc)

Thanks for the feedback!!!

Like I said, I knew it was controversial statement by Mr.G, but I had to see what everyone thought... and my brain was telling me that it was the conditions the B+ was grown in, and not the genetics.

WHAT STRAIN WOULD ALL OF U RECOMMEND??

B+ is one of the most popular, which is why MY FRIEND went with it, but wants to try a different strain next time.

ANY ADVICE????

Really, cubes are cubes. Any should work.

I suggest the mutant strains, albinos, Penis Envy... etc. because they look different than normal cubes.

For something completely different, but just as easy, Look into the truffle producing strains such as Mexicana A or Atl #7. They are not cubes and that is part of the fun.
