No, you don't look obese in your pic.

I don't know if you've noticed, though, but most of the people in the western world are obese.

26.8% is not "most", it's a minority, it means that 73.2% are not obese, that would be the majority

TGL, your eating habits and activity levels can affect your blood sugar, if
your blood sugar drops you can get the light headed feeling but there's a lot
of other things that need to be ruled out in addition to diabetes. doctors
have run tests and said you're OK in regards to diabetes so it's time to look
at your diet as a whole.

the dry mouth is also associated with many things from dehydration to
association with many drugs and even medical consitions, my advice, start
keeping a journal of your food and liquids intake, the frequency, the types
of foods and when you have an episode like you're describing it'll help you
and a doctor to pinpoint what's going on more easily

Aha, you're right.

Correction: Most people in the western world are overweight, including about a third of the population who are obese.

Sorry, I don't have any stats to back this up, but I would guess that most people are not bodybuilders.

the point is that the criteria for overweight is pretty stupid since many
people that arent overweight qualify as such

Diabetics problems come from high blood sugar, you seem to be experiencing low blood sugar symptoms (like feeling lightheaded) right? This lightheaded feeling if caused from blood sugar, would mean your pancreas is actually working too well and you have no diabetes to worry about. Some diabetics get lightheaded mostly from their medication that lowers blood sugar.

You say you drink a lot, and pee a lot, that seems normal as long as your pee doesn't smell sweet (sugar that's going through your kidneys). Diabetes used to be diagnosed by smelling the urine and diabetics actually will sometimes have a sweet smell to their urine, you could give it a try.

Also your toes would be long past tingly and be completely numb long before your knee cap was involved if high blood sugar was causing the problems. Sounds like you just injured your leg and it hasn't healed completely?

Hopefully your doctor checked an A1c, rather than a fasting blood glucose, just asking because an A1c doesn't require you to be fasting and it's really the only way to diagnose diabetes.

DOOOOOn't really know where i'm going with this but, being overweight, inactive, and eating badly most certainly lead to diabetes. Don't know what applies but evaluate yourself and adjust if your worried. As far as your symptoms I wouldn't worry, it sound to me like you already have explanations for them.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but you are overweight, sir. About 8 lbs shy of obesity, in fact. If you are not diabetic now, that is a good way to become so.

Do you exercise?

You have NO IDEA what the guy looks like.  Are you using a BMI chart to calculate that?

He MIGHT be fat, or he could be muscular.  It's very possible to hit 195 all muscle at 5'9".

I feel for you, OP.  I have had the same symptoms off and on my whole life.  You just have to get used to it, I am afraid.  I have blacked out a few times, have numbness in a leg that I can't shake.  Pee like a race horse and drink fluids like there is no tomorrow.  You got to die of something, I guess.

K+ to ya'!  I hope you feel better soon.

Oh, you can facepalm me all you want, bro.

The way he described himself, as "not obese" doesn't sound like the way that someone who is "all muscle" would describe themselves.

I don't know... maybe you're right. Maybe he's ripped, but humble.

you don't have diabetes. sudden onset diabetes is more than feeling dehydrated, it's drinking water until you feel like your going to explode and having to urinate 6+ times a night in your sleep. i've had it for years, trust me you don't have it, you'll know the day you do. it doesn't come and go, you'll get extremely dehydrated and it won't go away until you start insulin. it's a good idea to spend 20$ on a blood sugar meter though and check your blood semi regularly if your worried about it being too high or too low.

I woke up this morning on 2/26/13 and the numbness from my knees down is getting worse its starting to do prickling feelings and it got horrible when i first got out of bed but i haven't even been up and it feels like ive been standing for hours at DPS or some shit. I'm ruling out the diabetic stuff and thinking more on some thing else is wrong.

I look like every one when walking down the street. You cant see my stomach through my shirt or any of that. I look like the rest of the people that every one calls skinny. I'm no where near fat for society standards.

Numbness in the your extremities is a fairly late development in people who have diabetes. Low blood sugar in diabetics usually results from overshooting their dose of insulin.

195lbs is significantly higher than the average for someone who is 5'9" but is probably not in the unhealthy range, but it is getting close.

Honestly, you sound like I did when I was younger. I used to worry about every pain, every bump, every sensation. I could convince myself that I had just about any horrible condition. The number of times I've had AIDS is only slightly less than the number of unexplained bruises. Eventually, I came to realize that I kept on NOT dying of these things, but I did start having panic attacks and eventually got that treated. In treating the panic, my hypochondria also disappeared. I could tell, because the Merck Manual that I would reference all the time ended up at the bottom of a pile. I'm no longer on any medication, my panic is gone and I've learned to talk myself OUT of thinking I'm dying.

As for the numbness, anxiety is can do that. So can ADD meds. It seems like every 19 yo is taking them these days.

I don't take any medications I only smoke pot. The numbness started in my feet and its now from my knees down and its been there for almost a week now. Im not sure how me being sore could be hypochondria. When I stand up it feels like I've been standing for hours. I'm not the guy that panics about every thing either. I had a infection in my arm and though it was cool until I had red streaks LOL. I wasn't scared enough to let them do cultures I just asked for antibiotics. Theres not any panic I'm just curious. I almost die all the time it seems like with car crashes and every thing LOL i almost die walking out the door.
