Arnold for governor

He is giving a press conference right now announcing his intentions to run for governor of CA. This is assuming Davis gets recalled first. Think he has a chance of winning? A Republican governor in CA?

We've had Republican governors before(Pete Wilson and Ronald Reagan, to name a few). I don't know whether I'd like Arnold as governor. His views are fairly moderate, so I'm not worried about that, but the guy has absolutely no experience in politics.

True, true. He is a Kennedy though! Ronald Reagan is an interesting subject, maybe Arnold is on the same path. Don't you have to be born here to become President though? I can't remember at the moment for some reason.

Or he could travel back in time to eliminate the founding fathers and write his own constitution so his future self can run for prez.
-------------------- The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame". In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience. And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him. "Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

That would depend on what your definition of "is", is.

I donno, I saw a picture in the paper of him about 3 months ago, standing in front of a bunch of oil wells.
I also read some things which made me think he's pretty damn conservative.
Donno though, I dont really like Davis much anymore. Seems like he's cutting spending in all the wrong places.

To me, claiming that someone needs experience in politics is similar to saying that one should have experience being a thief and a liar in order to be qualified for the job. The less people are embedded in the lifestyle and mind set of being a professional politician, the better it is for them to relate to the common man whom they would rule (no, I don't mean 'serve,' our political system is beyond public service).

This entire recall election race is a joke.
While Arnold is a conservative, for some reason I'm cheering for him at the back of my mind. He is after all, a foreigner; a moderate in his views - you might call him a "centrist" as Jesse Ventura once put it.

Why is it a joke? Are you just talking about the morons with no chance that are entering, or the recall itself? Just curious.

A "smut peddler who cares"... I don't know terribly much about the recall, or Gray Davis etc. other than that he had a 22% approval rating and he apparently couldn't cope with the state's budget crisis. Anyone with $3,500 lying around and alot of friends can just jump into this circus.

Although I know very little about Larry Flint's point of views, I wouldn't hold the fact that he is a "smut peddler" against him.
I saw Jerry Springer on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews, where he said that he was considering running for senator of Ohio. At first, I thought this was funny. Until I heard a debate between Jerry and Chris. Jerry OWNED Chris, and made him out to be a complete dumbfuck. Jerry brought up one great point after another, and Matthews repeated lame rebuttal was "but you're Jerry Springer, you can't be taken seriously".
Incidentally, Jerry Springer happens to be a lawyer from Northwestern University (one of the top law schools in the country), who served for five terms on the Cincinnati City Council, and became mayor of Cincinnati at 33 years of age with the most votes in the city's history.

Jerry is hella smart. He always said his show was crap. I read somewhere recently that he dropped out of the race I believe. As far as Flynt goes, I agree with some of the work he is done, but I would not vote for him, for hall monitor.
