Going away for 3 days!

Hi, AFOAF of mine is in the colonizing stage 2 days from now (Aug 6) it will be 3 weeks from innoculation. The best of jars is about 80-85% colonized and the worst is probably 35-40% colonized. On August 15th me and my friend will be leaving for 3 days (we leave 15th noonish and come back on 18th). My friend was wondering if he should fruit his jars when they are ready or wait till we come back (They will probably be finished colonizing couple days before we leave).
Are there any drawbacks to letting the jars colonize longer than they should? or will it just give them more time to strengthen the myc. network? P.S. if anyone thinks I should start fruiting before I leave give reasons and solutions to countering the lack of humidity and CO2 exchangs. Thanks any suggestions will be well appriciated.

nah, it'll make it stronger, thicker...people i know let their jars colonise for 3 days after the jar has reached 100%, as a rule of thumb (whatever the hell that means). So I suspect you'll be just fine!

the ones that are 80-85% colonized should be ready to birth by the time you leave...letting the jars colonize longer allows the mycelium time to colonize the central core of the cakes...however the extended period of time colonizing could lead to the substrate drying out if you didn't add enough water to the substrate recipe...you could tape up the holes and stick the jars in the fridge to slow down colonization till you come back...although 3 days isn't that bad...i think they'll be fine if left in the incubator to continue colonizing....

Just leave 'em, and make sure it's dark where they are.

I just find it really annoying that people seem to be afriad of some invisible force so they won't say "I did this"
And it also seems to be a fad for the shroomery "everyone else is doing it, I think I will too"

ok then...go pick up your terraruim and go walk around town carrying it yelling "I DID THIS!!!"
maybe some of the members of this message board are really posting for their friend's friends...perhaps some live in an oppressive dictatorship with Agents running around all over the place...who cares...live and let live...
you wouldn't happen to be conflict driven with an inactive left temporal lobe now would you?

called the law...
anyways, the cat usually leaves them for 5-7 days after fully colonization to make sure the center is colonized before birthing, 3 days should be minimal IMHO.

I think Ravinoff is an undercover agent trying to force confessions out of people so his team can move in and bust thier punk asses...
anyways yeah I agree, i've found leaving them in the jars a few extra days can cut down the time it takes to pin

Well actually it is my opinion that they should be left fully colonized for a minimum of 3 days based on the knowledge I've gain from reading others posts. It was that darn cat that leaves them alone for 5-7 days, or so he tells me.

That's not smart, for you or for shroomery. Of course this place is watched, but if you were caught, I'd be willing to bet that somehow shroomery.org came into the picture. It'd be just like giving them more ammo for their War on Drugs. It's cool to use drugs, we mostly all do it here, but ya gotta be careful sometimes man. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just want your and our and the shroomery's interests protected.

I know this is off the topic but it was mentioned a few times in the topic, does anybody know anyone that has had problems from posting here? I have pretty much read everything that is offered from this site and love the shroomery. I do not cultivate (I don?t have the patients required) but this site is so addicting, more or less a hobby just learning about cultivation. But can a judge really issue a warrant solely based off of posting on the internet? I would not think so but, I could be wrong. Any incite on this or links to any information regarding internet bust would be greatly appreciated. And if I am out of line please delete this.
Thanks,
Smokey
