I always get excited when I see him.
I loved this movie. One part I thought was particularly interesting was when Samuel Jackson was telling Django about cutting his balls off. Then he just in a rundown of what slavery is, and how it's worse than bleeding to death by getting your balls cut off. And he was right.

Yeah, I fucked LOVE the scene with Tarantino in Pulp Fiction, it's my favourite scene in the movie. He is a pretty bad actor though .

What a great movie. In an NPR interview I heard, Tarantino said how everything violent in this film, everything that is said, it's all 1000x less terrible than what happened in real life. Which really hit me, considering there were serveral times during this movie (especially when the dog was ripping apart that dude's body, or when Django's wife was getting whipped) where I felt it in my stomach. The violence made me truly uneasy.
Hooray Quentin Tarantino. All hail Quentin Tarantino.

yeah. I think he proved a point. Spike Lee is all up in arms about this, saying it's disrespectful to his ancestors. That guy's a giant pussy and needs to get off his high horse. Give me a break. But yeah, I love it when Tarantino shows up in the movies. Laughs always follow.

In the same interview he mentioned how originally it was a lot more violent and dark, but he felt like it was "too much" for the test audiences so he toned it down. He said they had a hard time cheering for Django at the end after they just witnessed so many scenes of terrible violence and torture, and that if you don't cheer for Django at the end he failed the film.
I thought that was pretty interesting because I thought after seeing it it'd be cool to see a darker, less funny more violent Django. Either way, awesome movie.

I agree with the OP, the movie was amazing I would say one of QTs best. All of the A-list stars brought their 'A' game too, Leo and Sam especially killed it. I want to see it again actually.
The hood scene was laugh out loud funny, so was Djangos face when the Doc shot the dynamite!

He had an Australian accent.
DiCaprio was incredible though. I had very high expectations for him and he did not disappoint one iota. My hat is off to DiCaprio's unparalleled villainy.

it was a great movie, but as my friend pointed out it's simply inglorious basterds but instead of jews killing nazi's it's a slave killing slave drivers. but really fantastic movie, quite hilarious, probably the best movie of jamie foxx's career. the guy who plays the main german deserves an oscar, hes one of the best actors i've ever seen.

That thought occurred to me as well, but the similarity of the theme (oppressed person(s) striking back at their oppressor in blood-spattered tale of revenge) doesn't lend itself to an identical or even very similar plotline. It's a completely different movie.
That said, I do notice Tarantino has really been pushing at the boundaries of what's politically correct in these movies. I know somebody who was seriously upset by the idea of Jews torturing Nazis from IB, I'm sure she'd have similar problems digesting DU.
And give Spike Lee a break, the poor guy just misses being relevant.

Tarantino has gone the way of Oliver Stone making movies to pat himself on the back.

no doubt! I never took DiCaprio seriously, but that cat can act. Christoph Whatever-his-last-name-is was also AMAZING. every person in it was great. Just saw it again last night, and it was still just as good as the first time.

I didn't take DiCaprio seriously during his "teen idol" phase but in more recent years he's proven himself as a real actor. At this rate he'll go down in history as a peer of Marlon Brando.

That movie was awesome, just saw it.
Tad bit racist, but awesome.
In the scene where Leo was holding django and Shultz hostage, when he banged his hand on the table, he really cut himself. That was his real blood on his hand. He didn't break out of character, he pulled off that scene like a boss.
