Pressure Cooker ??

I posted awhile ago about my pressure cooker not sealing up and Anno let me know that you should not store your pressure cooker with the lid on because it ruins the seal. Well I ordered a new seal, pulled it out of the box and began to use the pressure cooker with new seal following the instructions that came with it. And once again, on the first try it is still not sealing. The steam is escaping around the lid where the various slots are on the seal. Has anybody else ever ran into this problem or have any idea as to what it could be?
Thanks,
Smokey

I'm sorry smokey but I cant really help, all I suggest is sending that exact post to the manufacturers of your Pressure Cooker and await a reply.

Sometimes it takes a little while for the PC to heat up and seal properly for the first time. If all else fails, cool it under running water so that the pressure is equalized, take the lid off, stretch the gasket a little while it's still hot, and then put everything back together and go.
My PC -always- leaks a little steam, but it still gets up to pressure.

Smokey your relief valve is probably plugged up and i just use some CLR to remove any mineral deposits that may build up where the steam escapes...just squirt some on both sides on your lid where the steam escapes and it should be ok...ok?
