2 Questions on syringe inoculation

OK - the newbie's back with a few more questions. After reviewing the ups and downs of my first inoculation, I have 2 questions:
1). Should I flame the needle between jars? I flamed it before I started and was very careful to only go in and out of the lid holes and not touch anything else with it. I tried to complete the process quickly and accuratly, although one jar I know got almost 1.5 cc when the plunger stuck and the last two got shortchanged a bit each receiving aboout .5cc
2). Is it normal for the syringe to drip a bit in between jars? I would think that the syringe would form a vacuum, but mine would drip a little between jars.
Thanks to everyomne for their advice. I await my first signs of myocelial growth!

my friend does all innoc. in a glove box. he lysols everything and flames the needle BEFORE putting into the box. From here he innoc. in the lysoled box and doesn't reflame in between jars. However, his needle does not drip as you described. No problems yet using this method

after you spray lysol inside the glovebox, don't try to flame sterilize the needle again, inside the box, trust me on this one, you get a cool blue fireball inside your glovebox, DON'T ASK ME HOW I KNOW
in other news my friends jars are colonizing quite nicely

It would be a good idea to sterilize in between jars, especially when doing 4-hole pf jars. But my foaf usually doesn't flame it to red, like he does on the initial sterilization. Just a little alcohol and a quick swipe of the flame should be enough to kill any new bacteria that has fallen onto the syringe. Drips are normal when using large gauged needles, but it shouldn't drip a lot.

i've read the best way to do it is to flame steralize your needle red hot with an alcohol flame and dunk in alocohol to cool off needle and give a little shake and inoculate.

Many thanks to everyone for the insight. I did not sterilize between jars, but was working in very clean conditions. Washed all surfaces with anti bacterial soap, showered, wore clean clothes, scrubbed hands and arms with anti bac soap, used gloves and wiped them down with alcohol before starting. I'll let you know if I get any significant infection in any jars.
