south asians? I've never heard of that... the people from india I know usually use "east indian" cause there is a native population where I live.

Geography lesson: The planet is divided into continents, and continents are divided into countries. India is a country, Asia is a continent. Do you understand now? Asia is not a country.

You'd be less racist if you were less ignorant about the peoples of the world. I suggest you gain a wider understanding of different cultures and races.

so what does gigong actually consist of?  this talk of energy raising and whatnot is fine and good, but what would it look like?  is it breathing exercises, or postures, or moving forms, or what?

There are different types, as Ive mentioned.

The practice I partake in has 2 forms. DO NOT TRY TO PRACTICE QIGONG BASED OFF THIS DESCRIPTION, IT WONT WORK. ITS TO GET A GENERAL IDEA or mental image

Feet face front, knees slightly bent, stomach is literally tucked and sucked in as much as possible, all the way up, butthole is puckered in, all organs are in alliance...tongue at roof of mouth, eyes pointed down and closed, breath in slowly through nose, out through nose. Hands are held in prayer position face level, thumbs bent downwards.

I do that for 30 minutes without stopping, and by far it is the most intense workout Ive ever partaken in. Ive practiced in 90 degrees Shaolin Gong Fu for 3 hours, and THAT is intense....but does not even come close to Qigong. Literally puddles of sweat will form under you. Your body will swell up because of the intense circulation of heat/enregy/blood throughout your body. Any sore spots will hurt REAL BAD, becauseyour body is forcing itself to heal any blockages.

The second posture I do for 30 minutes as well, and isnt as intense physically (though mentally it is harder I believe)  You sit down cross legged or lotus position, tuck in butthole, suck in organs again, hands are placed on knees palms facing outward

The practice if done correctly should be extremely hard and demanding of will power just to maintain the position.

It starts to hurt after about 5 minutes, 30 minutes seem like hours ....afterwards you feel like you jsut drank a 12 pack, lol

So you always believe what the chinese government say then? did somebody say sucker?

hehe you goofball.. your response was predictable because it came from a pamphlet from a twisted Chinese cult.

Falun Gong is a buncha guys with fucked up religious ideas who tried to infiltrate the Chinese government for some kind of revolutionary purpose, and they were found out, so guess what? They've been oppressed. Not only have they been oppressed, but lots of other people have been as well because they stirred up the hornets nest. No more practicing qi gong in public in certain areas and things like that. So then they come over here and say "hey the Chinese government is so mean! They are oppressing us! All we tried to do is overthrow them! Please, support us in our fight against them!" Obviously they get our sympathy, but the truth is they're religious extremist terrorrists, and what the fuck did they expect trying to infiltrate a totalitarian government and replace it with a cult? Obviously they're going to be oppressed, the same way islamic fundamentalist terrorrists aren't too popular over here.

Don't get sucked in by their bullshit, that's all. They're a bunch of creeps. Worse than the Taoist Tai Chi Society.

I have checked out some info on them and they seem fairly harmless to me. Perhaps you can provide some links to show how they tried to "infiltrate" the chinese government. lol!

You know many chinese people who actually live in china? Even if you do you obviously dont know any of the thousands who demonstrated in 30 chinese cities when the leader of their cult/sect/organisation (you choose!) was arrested.

Im not saying im for or against it... But if a group such as this had gained that many members you can see why the chinese government might start to worry and see them as a threat even thought they could have got it totally wrong and the organisation posed no threat at all.
Lets say they did have a hidden agenda which involved overthrowing the communist regime which leaves many chinese poor and suffering..I would say good luck to them.

Dont jump to conclusions guys thats all...

Peace
