Light exposure during Incubation
    #1775580 - 08/03/03 01:44 PM (20 years, 7 months ago)

OK, one more question. The TEK I followed didn't address light exposure during incubation. Another one I read said it should be dark. Right now, my jars are incubating in a room with indirect florescent light. Is that OK or should I turn the light out? Again,
many thanks for helping out the newbie!!

I dont think it really makes a huge difference, i have incubated jars with indirect light constantly and i still get popcorn colonization in 1 1/2-2 weeks. DOnt stress about it.

darkness promotes mycelial growth...light tells the mycelium to fruit...you should only give the jars light when they're 100% colonized if your goin for invitro...keep the jars in the dark...they should colonize faster....
