hey in wondering, in australia it has been raining since the past 4 days in a row and it has been cold. what do u fellow shroomers think is a good enviorment to find shrooms. i have been searching with my friend for shrooms and dont seem to find any thses days, has the season stopped? is it that im not looking hard enough.

yer i found many different types, like yesterday i thought i found a cube. every shroom i find ill take a pic and post it up for it to be idenified.

umm thoth - if the temperature is right for sub's, then it's VERY VERY VERY unlikely you found a cube. if you were looking for sub's, i doubt you were looking at cow patties.
they are still in season, they just fruit very variably. also, make sure you wait for some decent rainfall if you have your hopes on being successful

In melbourne subs have been very sparse even with all this rain. I am starting to suspect that the season has finished very early due to the fucked up unseasonable weather throughout winter.... although I would love to be proved wrong! I havent seen one for about 3 weeks now (not that i have been looking too regularly)...

a good way to tell the season is ending is that the shrooms will start to have plenty of maggots in them.

yer i didnt go last week shrooming. 
this week ill go with merkaba shrooming, alot of times we find ones that u cant eat.we go and get exposed to - ions.

15/08 found a patch of 15 or so subs surrounding a grassy eucalyptus.
16/08 found a few subs in pine needles, and even a couple of late season fly agarics poppin up. also some edible boletus (probably granulatus) and Flammulina velutipes.

You're just gonna hafta be lucky now. Haven't found subs in any large quantity for a few months...recently only luck i've had has been the occasional stray sub, not even much stropharia love around anymore...so all signs point to "end of season".

made a trek 2 the blue mountains today, confident and hopeful.... found NOT ONE mushroom no sub's, nothing - and this was at previously fruitful locations... im thinking the season is over, but i can't understand why. temperatures are still low in the mountains and there was plenty of rainfall over the weekend. guess we'll have to wait till next year
