Hyphal Indications?
    #1773395 - 08/02/03 04:28 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

We all know that strong rhizomorphic growth into hyphal knots is usually a good sign of a strong fruit to come. So what would it be a sign of if small patches of early colonization were covered in a swirl of tiny hyphal knots? Do the size and number of knots have any bearing? What about just the mean percentage of surface area they cover, and how soon they first appear? Maybe I just love my jars...

The largest area of colonization is roughly the size of a quarter. It looks as though it has twenty distinct raised and outlined railroad tracks running over it's surface.

Sounds mildly irrelevant however, since my cat purchased them from another country and had them shipped to an offshore oil rig. I can't remember. Why?

it is just that the pesa that kramer has grown grows fluffy mycelium with hardly any disernable rizomorphic growth he got these spores from the hawk's eye and btw is the first strain he ever grew
kramer says that unless there is light exposure to your substrate then that is probably not hyphal knots just yet, as they will usually show up only with light an some gas exchange... it sounds like you have good growth so far...the only thing kramer says you can do at this point is watch and wait(do as little watching as possible).

Probability that my cat may have over observed the jars during first signs of growth is high. Possibly this is the culpret. How did you like PESA? Was it strong? Etc.?

pesa was strong enough for what it is, good rounded buzz too.
