I am having problems with contamination and I suspect the verm I am using is bad. Could I please get some responses as to where you guys get your verm and what brand it is?

The kind I have which I've had no success with is called ferti-lome. It's got a picture of all these kids at some nursery learning how to put plants in pots or something and on the wall it says "Young Gardener Week". Of course this brand of verm comes from Texas so I doubt anyone else would have it but you never know.

I just use Sta-Green verm. I bought it at Lowes. Its the Medium grade!
You should sterilize all your verm before using it.

mighty_bop....just bake your verm in the oven in a pan for like 1/2 hour @300degrees before makeing the mixtures up for the jars! that should help contams if it IS the verm.
