depending on habitat and weather conditions you can find many actives in the seatle area.

you will be able to find at least one active gymnopilus species, P. cyanescens, P. stuntzii, semies, and more...

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Arg... all these "i live in [insert state here], what kind of shroomz can i find" posts are really starting to piss me off (I can only take about 5 of them a week). I'm contemplating a new forum rule.

Anyways,
READ THE MUSHROOM HUNTING FAQ.

I'm just south of you. We gota wait for the rain, man. It's been super super dry but when the rain rolls around you can find nearly every active specie in washington. I know for a fact azures grow in oregon although alot of papers try to prove otherwise. I know what i've seen >:)

sorry, i did read the hunting FAQ, i was just hoping i could get a little more info here. I did'nt feel comfortable just going out and hunting only knowing what i read there. And mabey, if someone else lives in the area, they would be able to tell me things the FAQ wouldent, like specifically were to look for what in this area. Is'nt that what this board is for?

Do a search for cyanescens and make sure to put the time thing back a year so you get posts from last fall. Those posts will have all the info you need.

i have yet to find any cyanascens or azurescens. I have found many stunziis and liberty caps in washington. Arn't cyans and azures near the mountain range?

I've never hunted Azures although I am planning on visiting a friend in the Couv this season. From what I hear, they are mostly along the Oregon and Southern Wash. coastline in sandy areas with wood, usually with tall grasses around. However, cyans will most likely be found in city parks or government facilities, which have been landscaped with lighter colored woodchips and these can be found from the coast to the mountains.
If you do a search from last season, hopefully, some of the pictures will still be around. I remember many great habitat photos.
