I was just getting involved in drugs and a friend showed me an ayahuasca trip report from Lycaeum. I got really interested and started looking up all sorts of drugs. So, search engine i think.

I read alot of information on the site and slowly started looking at the forums. Then discovered that it was a pretty healthy community and started lurking regularily. Then one day I just decided to make a username. Then one day i realized that i had reg'd on fourtwenty. It was crazy. Like a sign from God. "You are meant for here."

www.lycaeum.org! This site used to be hosted by them. I was a big fan of the lycaeum and after a I had read most of everything on that site I was still intrigued by this site. It's been fun watching the shroomery grow for the past 5 years.

A friend of mine told me about it after we were talking about Shrooms and how hard they are to find, he said you can grow them and showed me to this site. Then 2 months later he died, the family never released how he died or what from, funeral was private.. to this day it still puzzles me, 2 years later.

I found the shroomery via a link at erowid.org; that was several years ago. I didn't even know there was a forum for the longest time.

I've been researching mushroom cultivation since I was 15.
I forgot how I found it. Probably searching around.
Since I read some of the trip reports, I've been facinated with hallucinogens, what they do and how they work.
I never "tripped" till I was 18.
I never "shroomed" till this year.
Now I'm finally cultivating my own (B ) after almost 5 years.
Its funny how a simple facination with fungus 5 years ago could result to this.
Now I'm a Mushroom Maniac.
All thanks to the Shroomery.

sorry to get personal, but those shades and haircut aren't quite this season's are they? jon bon jovi eat your heart out  :wink:. remember that money is notoriously bugridden, so those rubber gloves are a contam factory after that filthy-lucre pic! i sure hope that isn't drug money  :shake:

i got here through the lycaeum too, like the majority it seems. it's a shame the two sites fell out.

Ythan, dude who created the shroomery, is my best friend. I found out about the shroomery from him just after it was created... and the sad thing is im still here. Ythan at least had the comon sence to get sick of this place, or at least thats the impression I get.

I found it on erowid. I was looking at that site and how to grow mushrooms.. I didn't get it at first. then I saw PF site and then the shroomery. I didn't join right away because I wasn't into message boards. hehe I didn't knowthey could help so much but I was wrong and not I am addicted. :smile:

I was actually referred to this site by a very underground spore vendor. Last time I mentioned their name, everyone got pissed off because they don't sponsor the forum. This is probably because they aren't as we$$ off as the others, but anyway, I asked them where I could get some FACTUAL, SCIENTIFIC DATA on MYCOLOGY, and they said this WAS THE PLACE!

As for the forums, I knew about them right away, as they are on the bottom of the home page. But I waited about 3 months before actually logging in to them. Now, I am a 'post-whore', I guess. So far, the only problem has been the continual contradictions.

I used a search engine other than Google. I was searching for mushroom related info. I don't even think Google was alive back then.

Me too, back in the Lycaeum days circa 1997-98. Anyone else prefer the old lycaeum interface/layout instead of the new one?
