Preserving in Chocolate

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong forum BUT heres the story anyways. Some of the sellers in my area sell thier mushrooms in chocolates, most of the hippies here call them "goo-balls", is this a way of preserving fresh shrooms or just a way to make dried shrooms taste less like dirt? I've never had one so i was just wondering if anyone has ever experenced something like this. Thanks.

it makes dried product easier to eat, and easier to transport. most police dont bust you for having chocolates, espically if they are nicely wrapped and boxed up
i grind down shrooms, add to chocolate, then wrap in perty foil, then freeze yay
(if u did this with fresh shrooms u would end up with a nasty rotton mess

The heat from the melted chocolate (when you add the grinded mushrooms) wont harm the 'magic' will it?

Excessive heat breaks down psilocibin and psilocin i forget what temp exactly, but warm, plyable chocolate (semi-melted) is NOT hot enuff to do it....
try adding candy peanut-butter chips if chocolate still tastes like shit to you..

shrooms in chocolate.. conclusion. dealers putting 1.75 grams dry in a chocolate to sell as much as an eight,... nobody "flips out" from a negative response, and yes, psylociben does brake down in intense heat
your welcome... try nestle's

my frist time on shrooms I had a chocolate turtle it had 1.5 powder grams in it and I couldn't taste the mushrooms that much but the only shitting thing about is you can't take it with you because it will melt so before you went out you had to eat it.

No, it won't -- not if you use quality chocolate and a thermometer.
Good chocolate should melt in your mouth -- which means it should melt at 98.6 degrees F or below. If you use a double-boiler and are both patient and careful, it's easy to keep the temps low. This temp won't cause problems for your shrooms -- otherwise, you'd have problems with the psychoactives breaking down just from being eaten.

use tempered chocolate (search google) the heat isn't enough to cut potency. Also, use good quality chocolate. Not hershey's or bakers, at the very least use ghiradelli, a high quality brand common in most supermarkets. I usually make chocolates only when I have an excess of dried material that is taking up too much space. I usually put a lot of pulverized mushies in mine, but then you sort of ruin the texture of the chocolate and personally, I can still taste the mushrooms in the chocolate (I'm very sensitive to mush taste, it's soooo horrid, I almost never eat my own chocolates, I need the placebo effect to eat them) I'm not a big fan of chocolates, both to buy or consume but if you get it from a good source or a trusted friend then they're a special treat and not to mention the easy smuggle factor.

The chocolates I have ate in this city suck ass. I bought 5 chocolates which were suppose to be 5 grams. There was definately not 5 grams altogether, because I barely tripped.

There's a very nice chocolate sold in chunks very cheaply at Trader Joe's. I can't remember the maker, but its' one of the good ones. This stuff would be perfect, I think.

You ever notice how people think they can just cross post by saying sorry first? Whats with that? But anyway, arex7tt, you shoudl also get some sort of food wax to add to that chocolate if you are trying to preserve them for a long time. I use Gulf Wax that i found at my local grocery store. i think it helps to cover up that nasty taste a bit too.
