Does dunking usually cause contams?

I want to dunk my cake but not sure about contams. Also, is it worth it to dunk?

to dunk or not to dunk that is the question
do it, it's worth it,and if your water is clean and the container you use is clean you shouldn't get any contams.a fully colonized cake won't contam easly.

sterilize hands&jar that the cake is going to be in and add hydrogen peroxide to the (bottled or distilled) water and you should be ok.it's worth dunking if your cakes are dry or lossing moisture I only dunk when needed but some people dunk after each flush so what ever works for you I guess

If your cakes are fully colonized they should be pretty contam-resistant, but if you are concerned, just be clean (i.e., h2o2/alcohol and lysol...and if cold shocking too, into a plastic bag the jars go).

Monkey, what should the proper ratio be of peroxide to water?

Also, how long after I have a fully colonized cake should I dunk if I'm going for invitro growth?
