I think i would rather believe bush is just using religion as a tool to garner support....instead of believing he does teh lords work... :nut:

US is an gay nation now, thats what they said on the fox news yesterday and people are mad that the gays are having rights now. I dont watch much news but when I get a time to it sticks with me and making me think about things.

At least when Clinton was in power the U.S. economy wasn't going down the toilet.

Carter was the last honest man to be president of the United States, possibly the only one in almost a hundred years.

You don't really think he had much to do with that?

He stepped in it.

Besides, I'm not sure you'll find many economists who'll deny that the downturn started before Clinton left office.

And that the upturn began before he took office.

There's a chart here which bears that out.

I won't argue with that.

He struck me as a very honest man. I even admire his work with Habitat.

yeah but so much of the economy is about psychology. especially the stock market. if investors have confidence in the leadership, it goes up. if not. well, you've seen what has happened.

I'll agree that's a part of it.

However, the stock market had been so overvalued for so long it was going to go down no matter who was in office.

the real culprit for the economy: idiots paying big bucks to get in on the ground floor of buy-toasters-online.com, et cetera. It was a frenzy that had to run out of fuel sooner or later.

Neither Bush nor Clinton is culpable.

"the real culprit for the economy: idiots paying big bucks to get in on the ground floor of buy-toasters-online.com, et cetera. It was a frenzy that had to run out of fuel sooner or later."

finally, something we can agree on!!!

I predicted the tech stock bubble burst in 98, simply because I was into computers and I saw past the "dot com" hype.

I also saw a bunch of stupid, noveau-riche yuppies investing thousands in computer companies when they didn't, in fact, know how to turn a computer on.

doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out how that one would turn out. and I say: it couldn't have happened to nicer people.
