wbs too dry?
    #1762521 - 07/30/03 11:31 AM (20 years, 7 months ago)

a foaf's pot plant has some wbs in pints and was wondering what the consistancy of wbs should be. before colonization. after inoc. this is its first time. using 6tangos tek. hes not real clear.
real wet?
kinda wet?
dry and sticky?
dry and smooth but still swollen able to move freely about the jar(not on their own, of course)?
dry and smooth and shrunk?

thank you.

follow the tek word for word and you'll have success.

should be moist
alittle condensation in jars
should be swollen

Should not see puddles of water .
Here is a method for 1/2 pints , just double or triple for larger jars .
1/3 cup of Milo/millett grain in half pint jar
Add 40 mls of distilled water , let sit for 20 - 30 min , stir up , put into PC or AC at 250*F 15 psi for 40 - 50 min .
This works great for agar inocs , if doing syringe injections add 1 more tablesppon of grain and 10 more mls of water to each jar .

50 hours since inoculation aint jack shit bud .
PATIENCE IS MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT TO MUSH CULT !
Put that damn jar back in its incubator and leave alone for a minimum of 10 days , then take a peek , only a peek .
Moisture will only become problem down the road when myc matures , but you may have gotten it right , but are just being to damn impatient to give it a chance to germinate !

People who want to see fast germinations should learn to work with agar ! Have seen germinations occur in two days , but have also seen some strains take two weeks to show first signs of growth ! Just my not so humble opinion !
AGAR RULES ! Fun to play with and watch spores sprout quickly .
That is MHO

No it will not kill myc .......but could induce "premature" pinning .
On the funny side ...if you keep scaring it looking at it , it will play shy and take longer .
Remeber that patience rule ............ ?
Inoc jars , put in incubation and leave alone for 10 - 14 days is my opinon .
Yes I know all to well the jones for growth .......
