Are you putting a piece of aluminum foil over the lid?

If its drying out, then use it. Probably best to use it during incubation, too.

When my friend uses tyvek with 6t's tek it always dries out if it doesn't colonize fast enough. But he has never had a problem with polyfill. So if you use 6t's tek, then use polyfill. I've done quite a few tests using both of them and the polyfill has always worked out better for me.

AFOAF has had phenomenal success with 6T's WBS Tek. As a matter of fact It's been almost too fast and successful now she's having to deal with to many jars and not enough fruiting space.
Her tek is simple. Using 6T's fantastic grain tek she drills one small (1/4") hole in the lid. Covers the jar with tyvek. place lid over tyvek covered jar. Cover with foil for PC only (remove foil for incubation).
The incubator is the key she thinks. She uses the double tub with the water heater & she doesn't lift the lid much to check as it has a clear lid. I doubt it has much to do with it but perhaps the lifting the lid could lead to drying out... not sure. But without a doubt the incubator has made a HUGE difference. Get those jars colonized in 10-12 days and there is no time to dry out.

follow 6t's tek to the 'T'
the tyvek works GREAT, ive NEVER had a problem with dry jars, ive never had a problem with wet jars....
the 1/4 inch hole does not allow enuff moisture out to dry out the seed.
ive even done this with slow colonizers in a dry environment, without an incubator....
a half retarded monkey with one eye and a cleft pallet could do this tek.... just follow the instrcutions....

are you using an incubator? put them in a rubbermaid with a lid on it. The humidity will be trapped. open it up every now and then
