Here's a good post by rr on disinfectants.

They have different purposes.  Bleach is not effective against fungi. I regularly dip cultures from the wild into ten percent bleach before transferring to agar to kill mold spores and bacteria, but it doesn't harm the live culture.  That's why spraying bleach on the black mold around your bathtub or window sills does nothing.

Iodine is very effective against microbes. When I clone, I wash the whole mushroom with iodine before cutting out a section to transfer, which is then dipped into ten percent bleach.

Peroxide will help prevent mold in your humidifiers. Many experienced mycologists also use peroxide to dip cultures before transferring to agar. I prefer not to use it for that purpose except for when transferring dry tissue because of the damage it causes at the cellular level, which the fungi must then recover from.

Alcohol is great for cleaning tools, tabletops and gloves before doing sterile work, but you should still flame sterilize scalpels and needles, etc.  A well equipped lab will have a multitude of cleaning agents, as well as at least two fire extinguishers at opposite ends of the working area.  I don't know of any particular one cleaning agent that will do it all.  I hope this helps.

I put all the air in my greenhouse through a hydroponics pump that's adjustable.I mounted it in one of those nice see through Tupperware cases with the rubber gasket around the lid and locking clamps.

I cut a hole in the top and siliconed the square flat hepa filter that's made for some vacuum cleaners. Any brand will work as long as its as described, and has rubber gasket around it its perfect for siliconing to the lid. I get the big ones their expensive though like 36.00.

I keep my green house completely sealed up and on the bottom of the greenhouse I cut holes one on each side and 3 in the back and siliconed the same hepa filters over those holes. I have the same green greenhouse you have I only have one tho.

I usually always get 4 or 5 flushes not many contams at all usually If I do its usually cause I fucked up and that doesn't really happen any more.

Am I the only person that uses an ozone generator? I really don't know exactly what it kills (I've been told it nukes pretty much everything organic & airborne), but I don't have a big issue with contams...ever. Well, trich still grows in the coffee maker if I leave grounds in there over vacation, but I haven't resorted to running ozone in the main living area of the house.

Honestly, I think fresh air is the best thing to prevent contamination. The only place nasties grow in my place are in enclosed spaces (like the compost bin, coffee maker, closed garbage bin, etc.--when that kind of thing is spotted, it is dealt with immediately)-- a SGFC gets lots of air and I don't have issues as long as the FAE is happening. Perhaps a house works the same way and you need a little fresh air run through the house (I do understand that in many places this is difficult to achieve this time of year).

For my part, in the room where I do sterile work, I will run ozone and a standard over-the-counter hepa for a few hours before I turn everything off for at least an hour before doing work. I just don't run into the problems I often read about here.
