Optimal bran for shiitake?

Well I was about to buy some oat bran for my shiitake block (rye) as supplement, but before I did I tried to find if there was any specific bran people use for shiitake. My search leads me to believe that there is no real big difference as there is almost no conversation comparing different bran. So there is no big difference with Oat, Wheat or Rice bran, right?

Yeah I believe its all the same. I use wheat because I can get it cheap & local.

RR once posted mutants when he changed from wheat to oats (I think) and kept the same formula, before reducing oat rate.
I think strain is also relevant.
Search RR posts to concirm.
