carbon scrubbing
    #17633212 - 01/30/13 02:07 AM (11 years, 3 months ago)

this whole issue about maintaining humidity and the build up of c02 and fresh air exchange got me to thinking why not use activated carbon to scrub the co2 then you can use a closed environment to trap the moisture then this will sit in a drip pan filled with water with holes drilled into the habitat below the water line and a fish tank water heater to provide evaporation just keep the drip pan filled and enjoy also use a platform to keep your cakes and trays out of the water ..... p.s. i know the drawing is crude please forgive me

every once in a while you will have to unplug the activated carbon bucket and run clean air though it to clean out the absorbed carbon and it will be ready to reuse

You only want high co2 for colonization, and you only want fresh air exchange for fruiting.

Also, still standing water should be avoided.

I believe you have some reading to do.

this was just for fruiting but i thank you this was just a thought is there any better setups for carbon removal other than opening the lid and fanning i have a job and I'm not able to do this 5-6 times a day

For what kind of setup/fruiting chamber are you referring to?

Because co2 is not a problem in a SGFC(Shotgun Fruiting Chamber) or a Monotub, if they are built right.

Co2 does not sink or settle out of air.

This thread has been closed.

Reason:
Off topic in advanced mycology.

Mushrooms don't need a scrubber and sealed vessel.  They need fresh air and lots of it.
