Few questions regarding Dead Concert
    #1762231 - 07/30/03 08:48 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

hey  THis is my second concert ever (First one was hoobstank/black eyed pee at STone Mountain about 2 weeks ago)

Here are some questions:

1. I have purchased an extra ticket (5 total, only need 4) will it be easy to sell the ticket off? IF I sell it for like 10 bucks cheaper, cause the tickets for the concert never sold out

2. What all should I bring? FOr the parking lot Im thinking COoler with drinks and sandwhiches, a disposable camera maybe? Im also bringing money!!

3. It says on the ticket concert starts at 5pm, doors open at 3:30pm, what time should I get there by? Im thinking ARRIVE by like 1:30/2?

Thats all, thanks guys

Hey man.

1. You should be able to sell your extra easily. If all else fails, go to where people are standing in line to buy tickets from the box office (usually near the entrance). Just go up to anyone in line and they will jump at the chance of buying one for a little cheaper.

2. I always bring a cooler with plenty of ice, beer and food. Also I always bring a few gallons of spring water. You never know how hot it's gonna get. You might also want to bring a smaller bottle of water into the venue to avoid buying overpriced water. The bottle usually has to be factory sealed or they'll make you dump it out before you go in. It depends on the venue. Yeah and a camera is always a good idea. I never take enough pictures. It's cool to have some fold up chairs for chilling in the lot too.

3. If I were you I wouldn't get there later than 1:30. But it all depends on what time the lot opens. It sometimes says on the ticket or I suppose you could even call the venue to find out. I like to get there about half an hour after the lot opens.

Have fun and tell me how it goes!

Also, are the lines for the porta-potties always real fucking long? I can't really piss when I'm being rushed , so that'll suck if I gt like 50 people behind me, little supermarket is a little timid.

yeah the lines are pretty long during breaks between sets, but we peed at the very top of the lawn, or in the woods. Bring food, beer, a little grill, chairs. If you buy food, keep it in the familly. Buy off of a friendly dead-head selling veggies and humus in a pita, or grilled cheese or whatever. Don't forget the essentials. Roll many joints or bring a bowl, most venues have people to pat you down and a few of my friends actually lost one or two good pices. Be creative, it's not too hard.

Amen
Alot of kind people support themselves selling food, drink ext.
By buying off them you make it possible for our brothers and sisters to stay on the road. The more family that can tour and attend shows the better the energy on tour.
Everybody wins this way.

At bonnaroo everyone was raping people hard on food prices. Ridiculous prices on almost everything. The cheapest thing I found was 2 dollar grilled cheeses from these two dudes chillin by their tent just grillin out.

Next year Ima sell grilled cheeses for 75 cents and water for a quarter. Peace.

oh and supermarket, you will have absolutly no problems with that tik. Go around the lot looking for people with their right index fingers raised high or people asking for a miricle. They'd be thrilled if they found out they can get a good deal.

Update:

The concert itself was very good, but the parking lot scene was amazing. I loved, I mean absolutely loved connecting with my brothers and sisters in a real way.

It made me realize how the American Society is built upon weak foundations, and which is why it is destined to crumble in a small amount of time.  I talked to a few people from the family, and I can tell you guys right now they have a strong, amazing foundation of love and respect that I could tell not only from their words, but from their eyes.

Never have I seen so many soulful eyes, and I was able to connect on a level I rarely can with human beings.

I did end up getting 40 hits of fractal blotter, and tripped VERY nicely off of 2 hits

Had a wonderful time, heres a few pics
