The two home invasions I referenced were probably in search of drugs or drug money. The first one was probably just the wrong house, the second was apparently on bad intel.
Dogs are a great deterrent. When I get on with a fire department I'll have to buy my girlfriend a rotweiler, for security when I'm away all night.

I got my rotti male from the pound.. the previous owner apparently started training him and gave up in disgust because of his stupidity...but he stills attacks with his front paws and shit....growls, and guards.

Although he sounded like a fool,he was within his rights to protect his home. I have a little sign posted on several of my windows and doors and i quote"if i find you here tonight, they will pack your dead ass off in the morning.

The fact that he shot a 16 year old in the back with a shotgun was a bit harsh, and the pictures the mirror are showing of him make him look like the hunchback of notre dame (And that bastard advert...) But at the end of the day, I would've done the same in his position, most ppl would.... EDIT: By that I mean defend their family/homes, its just most of us dont keep shotguns next to the bed...

He shot him in the back, it was premeditated because he'd been telling people in the pub he would do it, the weapon was unlicensed. Tony had to do a stretch. End of story.

Heh, my comment on this is that many people would not have shot that kid in the back, but the shooter should not be sent to jail anyway, since nothing good will be gained from putting a person in prison for defending his property.

This happened in the UK though.
-------------------- The above is an extract from my fictional novel, "The random postings of Edame". In the beginning was the word. And man could not handle the word, and the hearing of the word, and he asked God to take away his ears so that he might live in peace without having to hear words which might upset his equinamity or corrupt the unblemished purity of his conscience. And God, hearing this desperate plea from His creation, wrinkled His mighty brow for a moment and then leaned down toward man, beckoning that he should come close so as to hear all that was about to be revealed to him. "Fuck you," He whispered, and frowned upon the pathetic supplicant before retreating to His heavens.

In England you do, apparently.
