PC's & Scotch Tape
    #1760883 - 07/29/03 09:55 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

My friend recently tried grains and the grains dried out quickly after inoculation, he had 3 tyvek holes that were very small but still dried out. He is certain the water content was right. He was wondering if scotch tape is autoclaveable? He wants to put it over all of the holes before PC'ing to keep out any moisture that might find it's way in and to prevent drying if he doesn't inoculate RIGHT after they cool off. So in a nutshell-can my friend PC scotch tape (clear plastic tape)?

Use poly-fill a bag will last a good year.
That is the way to go with grain.

How's that not going to dry it out like tyvek does? I mean..tyvek has less air flow then polyfill doesn't it? And also-IS scotch tape PC-able?

i pc-d a jar that had scotch tape on the lid once and it was a pain in the ass to peel off. You can take the tape off but it leases a shit load of sticky residue.
