These I found in Alabama along the river:

 Not a timbit!

Ohio..

Looks like half of an egg, or a fossilized dung beetle nest..

RR track in PA

Awesome! My parents are rockhounds so we have a whole front and backyard just full of sparkly things and colorful rocks to look at...

Very nice! I've got a fair sized collection of rocks and minerals floating around my house too. Love finding new things on vacation.

Thanks, actually I traded my jewelry for these crystals. My friend found them though, I'm going to North Carolina tomorrow to go crystal mining with him! I'm really excited hope I find some big ones! And he found the clam one in Florida.

What's the best book on rocks/crystals/minerals?
I met a girl that would go looking for them once that had a good book but I can't remember what it is. I want to go looking for some and then be able to figure out what I'm finding. Really cool minerals here everybody. Seems like a fun hobby.

When I read Lake Superior the first thing that came to mind was looking for agates along the beach.

God it's a beautiful lake. Really good agate hunting too, from what I hear. I haven't found any though, although I also haven't looked. I just like skipping rocks on the shore.
