so, is it just me, or do aliens seem like the latest, most modern archetype for humans to focus their faith on?

god is outdated, old...used and abused.

But both do exist if people think they exist yes? I exist because I told and tell myself to exist, but I dont exist in most people's reality. Just in my own, and some other people's that I have convinced of my existence.

Well.. I don't know much about an external god in this aspect of physical reality..but I do know that within every living thing there is a spark of consciousness and it is pretty interesting in the many ways it manifests. I'm amused.

Consciousness is god.

Yes, and the word "God" is moving towards a definition that seems almost believable, almost rational. Aliens could exist, couldn't they? And they could come down and save us from all our troubles... like God. I wonder what the next archetype will be.

Most people just want to have a feeling that someone will come and protect them. Care for them. Do scary things for them.

But you have to do it all yourself in order to get anywhere.

I don't buy it. I think aliens are actually a Jesus archtype. kind of a half-man, half-god thing - savior of humanity. many people believe in both God and aliens. in this view aliens are like the "messengers" of God or something like that. maybe it's Jesus "returning" and being viewed through the filter of our current technological paradigm. whatever.

the only thing good about this whole thing is that the traditional religions have been completely left behind. they're irrelevent now. telling us we gotta get on our knees and "receive" Jesus. everybody knows he uses little green dudes with metal probes nowadays. get with the times people!

there can't be any aliens in the Pleiades star cluster. it's only about 100 million years old. that's the least likely place where we'll find life.

Not to mention, our star aging techniques are not accurate. They are guesses.

i like the alien archetype because generally speaking poeple are fucked up, it could just be because i don't know the right poeple, but everyone has thier dark side.

i like aliens because they maybe don't have dark and light sides, maybe they just have quiggles and nutella sides.
