And if you are buying it in bars and coins where would you sell it again to get the value back? You can't go to a pawn shop and get 25% of it's value. A coin shop is going to screw you over on the value as well.
Thanks.
My local coin shop pays spot even for scratched or tarnished silver if the coin is super shiny or more valuable they pay over spot.

Yeah that's true I guess but other people here were talking about people pay spot or OVER spot for silver
so yeah.
But, I did have a dream the other day that silver went crazy high in price, and I was glad I had bought a handful of coins before it did. But who knows, these dreams could take many years to come true
Some guy somewhere was saying anything under $34 is a bargain, and I won't agree completely, because I remember the days of 10 and 12 dollar ounce rounds...
But now a days, I'm much rather have some silver half dollars than bullion rounds.
In the end, it's all just BS anyways... you can't take your stash to the grave... it's just something to have fun with while you're still alive, and try to set up your offspring or inheritance with something nice.

Ebay is a good place to sell if you have the stomach for it.
people get crazy with the bidding wars and most of it sells for well over spot.
actually... if you dont have a good reputation on ebay its going to be harder to sell.
I have made sales over craigslist too.... met some interesting people.

Yep, that's a good point about REP. on ebay... low ratings means fewer bidders, ESPECIALLY with all the scams going on as of late..
And as far as craigslist.. gotta be careful too..
Myself, I'm a big copper guy... I like the old copper pennies, and am waiting for the US to do away with the penny like Canada just did.
Also, the US nickle is about to get changed... this year maybe, so save your nickels... right now it's 75% copper and 25% nickle...
In a few years, you will have to sort nickles people have to sort pennies, so get them while they are still hot...
Plus, I find it hard to beat rolls of coins that add up to $2 that you can take to the bank to cash in anytime. .. the same coins that will hold premium like pennies do now..
$100 of copper pennies costs almost $160 on ebay, RIGHT NOW... wow.
