Let it finish colonizing. Those pins will be fine, just a little cramped.

Pin it! Take it out of the jar and start to fruit it by give it light and dropping the temp and giving it air exchanges. that dime size spot will colonize when you take away the light from pinning it what I do is give it 12 hours light and 12 hrs dark a day until all the pins are formed then I cut it to 2 or so hours of light each day and like I said the dime sized spot will colonize when it's been given dark time.

I'd have to go with dog on this also, but if you get to a point to where you have to birth it when you do take a nail heat it up nice and hot and burn that uncolonized spot. This way no contams can start there.

thats cool leave me out in the cold hahahah j/k
well I had the same problem before and I tried to let fully colonize and they got stuck in the jars because of the pins.So I tried it they way I said it worked for me and I told some other guy to try it may way and he liked it and it worked for him too.
so what ever works

Don't get me wrong I agree with you in most cases it is just fine but I got bit one time by contams on a spot he size of a pea. Most the time it will grow over just fine but there is that chance and a spot the size of a dime isn't much to loose. What it sounds like to me is this isn't much of a problem.

yeah that makes sence man It's just that I never got contams from it yet and it always grew in so I never learned any other ways to handle that problem yet.So I do hear what you are saying
