One time me and my buddys were Steelhead fishing on an Erie trib it was cold and the water slushy so you had to use alot of lead to get your fly to sink. Well anyways I sunk a size 8 hook right through my earlobe, looked like I was wearing a pink yarn earing.

I started fishing when I was about 7.  I'm now 60,  I've fished dedicatedly for most of my life.  I've made untold numbers of casts with spinners, lures, baits and flies. I've never come close to putting a hook in myself as far as I know.  I've never even hooked my jacket.

I watched a friend get hooked in the face when we was kids messing around in his yard.  I hooked myself in the heel one night sleeping on the floor in my room.  It was a bass worm hook up to the bend.  Was kind of in between the skin and the flesh and I was able to cut it out with a razor.  Luckily nothing on the water though.  I have hit myself a few times.

Anyone learn the art of throw netting?
I have a 10ft throw net I was trained by an old mexican friend of mine, who does throw netting for a living in mexico. He taught me a strange but really effective technique, the amount of free bait is just absurd. And I often catch larger stuff on accident, recently tossed my net on a school of huge mullet, could barely lift the net out of the water to free them. But I like smoked mullet and kept a few.

Hhell yeah. I've also hooked my dogs/kids too. I hooked my son right in the forehead.
Its making me crave fishing just reminiscing.
It's always the most crooked, rusty, fish bacteria laden piece of shit hook too.

Yea mine opens to 7 foot. Mulllet and menhaden are gravy. My trips to the shore were often financed by mullet, at 50 cents a pound, didn't take more than 3 throws to fill a big red igloo cooler. Cast nets are illegal where I live but I threw on What I thought were suckers and ended up with a net full of Brown trout.
