Salvia Pests
    #1754386 - 07/28/03 01:10 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I have 3 salvia D plants inside near a window..I have a tent around them all and I noticed some small flies, I think gnats?

I keep killing them on the plastic, and then they appear agian, and agian, and agian.

how do you stop these bugs? I think I read something about taking tobacco and spraying it in a spray bottle, but would it harm the salvia plants?

p.s anyone know any good websites to buy salvia plants?

thx

those insects you are talking about are probably thrips or soil gnats go down to home depot they sell yellow sticky pads which attract's the flys they use this alot in commercial greenhouses try to not to over water the soil also.

Sounds like soil gnats to me too. Water from the bottom if you can.
