stalled jars
    #1753212 - 07/27/03 02:31 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

I have some jars that have been stalled for 4 days, Ive flipped them for 2 days and still stalled. I want to salvage them but i fear contams.. if I spawn them to some straw at a large ratio, like lets say: 1part jars:4 parts straw, will they recover and colonize the straw, or will contams beat it out. I need to save em!

I would just pop them out into a large ziploc, crush them into like canadian dime size pieces, then case with moist verm on bottom...then crush up cakes, cover with saran wrap, stick in terrarium until cakes recolonise, then case with 50/50 and dash of lime. easiest way to save em i would think.

ok 90% if that is the case you must first remove all uncolonized subsrtate then rinse well in h2o2 case or fruit it alone just make sure all is removed. if you notice the mycelium very thick around the edges of the uncolinized part it is bacterial infection and chances are the middle of the cake is uncolonized also...

Is it not possible for him to crumble...recolonise...then case?

Yes they are 90%... I may try the crumble method.. but cutting out the uncolonized area seems smart. THanks for the umput
