cool thanks. i always thought it had something to do with a pictures type (.jpg, .gif, etc) and me not having the right program to veiw it, but then i noticed it happens with different types and had no clue why that would happen. thanks again.

It sometimes also means that cross-linking isn't allowed. Sites like geocities won't let you access images from another website and just let geocities "host" your pictures. If you want to see the picture, you'll have to open up a new window and then paste the link of the picture manually.

some sites swap images on you instead. Try linking to any picture on somethingawful.com and see what happens

If you want to see the picture, you'll have to open up a new window and then paste the link of the picture manually.

... or forge a referer header in the HTTP request.

If the site is ok, it might be this what you are looking for:
" This is usually caused by a program running on your computer that is blocking the images (in particular, something that is preventing the sending of the URL_REFERRER field). To prevent this from happening, you need to configure your software to send the information required by the site to display the images - there are too many different software packages and procedures to give an guide for each, but please be assured that the site will work fine once you figure out what setting needs to be changed on your end.

For Norton Internet Security 2003

Open Norton internet Security
Click OPTIONS, Select Norton Internet Security
Click the WEB CONTENT tab and click ADD SITE
Scroll down and click on the new entry in the list of sites
Add this site to the list
On the global settings tab, 'Information about visited sites' uncheck use default settings and select PERMIT
Hit OK at the bottom and clear your browsers temporary internet files before entering the site to view a gallery.

For Norton Internet Security 2004

Open Norton Internet Security
Click Privacy Control; Click Configure
Click Advanced; the Web Contents tab will appear
Click Add Site and type in thissite.com (where thissite is replaced with this site name) in the window that appears
On the global settings tab, 'Information about visited sites' uncheck use default settings and select PERMIT
Click OK "

I came across of a site that was like that, hope I can help ya.

I fixed mine little red x problem by just downloading the new Java script. Had to tell Windows Security to let me, but it worked for me!
