P. cyanescens do not occur in kentucky.

i believe, based on species reproted from bordering stares, that you might be able to find P caerulipes, Pan. subbalteatus and/or one or more Gymnopilus species [spectabilis, aeruginosus luteifolius?].

i am not sure about any of these though.

[edit: edited for the addition of qualifiers.]

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

P. Azurescens if you're lucky. But that is based on what I read for findings in Ohio. Its just an assumption since we're neighbors, though it could be possible. Look for P. Caerulipes too.

There are so many hills and forests in Kentucky, you'll never know what you'll find.

Yeah, I'm a newb. But I've been doing my homework.

P. azurescens only occur in Blowhio as an introduced species which is not known to have ever escaped cultivation or been naturalized to the extent of my knowledge.

Psilocybe cyanescens were reported from Kentucky a couple of years ago. It was supposedly a confirmed report. But I've never found anymore info on the find.
Mj may have more info on the report.
I'll see if I can find the source for my information.

doo

Here you go.
I got the information of the listing from a book I have by Mj,Guzman and Gartz.
But here's some more input on the matter at this link. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum3&Number=1566575&Forum=Forum3&Words=Kentucky%20&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=1566575&Search=true#Post1566575 Apparently there's still a question as to the reliability of the original report. So ps. cyanescens may not grow there after all.
