You have made a step in the right direction by getting a membership and it sounds like nutrition was a turn you took years back, but do not forget about cardio and regular sleep. If you are just starting to lift weights it would probably be a wise idea to hop on the cycle or tred-mil for an hour a day because all of those muscles that you aren't used to using need to be stretched and well lubricated by your body fluids before you can start to accumulate muscle mass. Personally i work out for about an hour and half then i go run the track at my gym, usually 2 miles, then sit in the sauna Congrats on the effort though! I dont know about this bodbot but i hope it works for you! Try going to bodybuilding.com and checking out their routines, thats what i used when i first started
2miles after every workout? Thats pretty good, but how do your legs feel on the days you do legs?? I personally run 10-15min on the treadmill or elliptical bike after I work out. On cardio days I like to go to my local park and run up and down a 1/4 mile hill, instead of 3-4mile runs.

Honestly brah, ANY workout is good.
I've been workin' out for about 25 years now, and I've gone through all different types of workouts: weights, sprints, plyometrics, free weights, machines, dancing, aerobics, muay thai... list goes on and on.
I've come to the conclusion that as long as you're doing something that you enjoy for exercise, it's pretty good.
Honestly, even more important is your diet. Your health is about 2/3 dependent on your diet. So, by all means, keep workin' out, but also adjust your diet: 1. cut the sugars (soda, cookies, snacks, etc) and starches (pretzels, breads, pastas) out. 2. Lots of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. 3. Fast one day per week--water only

Don't fast ever! keep an anabolic metabolism. 6 light meals a day (if possible)! especially if you are lifting weights and tearing muscle. Never skip breakfast!

No. One day of fasting a week is very healthy. It gives your digestive system a chance to rest, and allows your body to pay attention to healing itself.
This practice goes way way back... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasting
I'm not saying overdo it; one day a week is sufficient.
And by fast I don't mean just food. I mean no smoking, alcohol, herb, drugs, porn, etc. One day a week to be free of all these things.
Just water, to wash your system clean.

Same here man. you won't be eating regular meals, protein the size of your fist/tennis ball, veggies, and some complex carbs (whole grain rice). I buy giant bags of great value or kroger brand chicken, also the giant bags of talapia. lasts me a little over a month some times. one or two of your meals could even be something as small as a protein shake, or protien bar with a fruit.
edit: another meal, half a can of tuna mixed with half and alvacodo. that makes two meals. eat some veggies on the side tho and a large glass of water to stay full. sometimes I mix in some kidney beans for that extra protien. add pepper for flavor

Alright so I got back from the gym and didn't work out at all cause I was assigned a personal trainer for free cause it was my first day.
He made me realize the extent of my ignorance when it comes to gyms and working out. It took 2 and a half hours, he took my vitals signs, told me the body fat I have, he planed a 6 months schedule for me and a bunch of other stuff.
Im gonna like going to the gym

That actually was probably the best route to take. GET A PERSONAL TRAINER! Now there's a person who is paid to know a thing or two about fitness. Good luck to you!

So I have noticed today that there is an enormous amount of penises in the locker room...
I must have seen like 10 dicks today.
The bastards come in all shapes and size too. Different colors and shit.
Its kind of disturbing to know that I have seen more penises today than I have seen vaginas in my entire life. And I pay to go there.
How fun.

Why is it terrible????
Also, my nutrition is close to 100% healthy. That's the first thing I did a few years back.
I would say it is terrible because it is a very low volume workout and it doesn't really put enough focus on things that should be focused if you are doing a full body workout. I really don't like full body workouts as it is either though. Also, the 4 minutes between sets is extremely long, you want to have some intensity in your workouts. You aren't going to be going back to the weights when you are all nice and rested up, you have to have that aspect of intensity which allows you to overload your muscles progressively.

Excellent!
That's my favorite part of going to the gym--the people. I argue with a friend of mine all the time about this. He has a "gym" in his basement--basically a few free weights. He always says, "I don't need a gym membership, it's a waste of money. I can train right here at home."
:bullshit:
The thing that's missing is the PEOPLE. Trainers from whom one may ask for advice, people who've been training for decades and know how to get through plateaus, people to talk to when you need to talk, and (of course), hot chicks ;P
Anyway, good work man. Never forget that you can learn something from every single person in the gym. What was the most valuable thing that you learned from this trainer?
