Why does it always seem that the Texas thread has 1 or 2 people actually finding actives, but several dozen asking if anyone has found anything? Get out there, boys and girls! Good luck!

I think a lot of people quit posting their finds once the excitement of hunting has faded. I wanted to start the thread off with a bang but eventually I will probably not post my finds anymore. At least not all of them.
IMO if you live in the Houston area and can't find shrooms after some rain, you're not trying very hard. I have two different species of actives that grow on my block alone.
Making a tea with all of the shrooms in my last pic. Dosing it tomorrow around noon. Should be in tents.

Will be the highest dose of cinctulus I've taken by far. The 125ish I consumed last week felt comparable to about 2.5 grams of cubes, so I expect this will be at least as strong as an eighth.

Nice to see some big cinctulus harvests
If you have stables/horse pastures/racing tracks close to you, go and look for big manure piles, cinctulus loves them. If your lawns is this good, the piles have probably exploded with mushrooms by now...

Frizzie said: come on guys.. Texas has more to offer than just Cinctulus! wheres the copes and cubes, and where are the little buttons of peyote!
peyote only grows in two texas counties as far as I know, and you have to have a permit to look for them. not to mention it's unethical. peyote is an becoming very rare and the native american church uses them. There is always san pedro for those of us who like mescaline. There probably aren't many cubes out right now because of the temperature, but you can count on me hunting them come april-september. P. Cinctulus are easy to hunt- I don't really even have to go anywhere. they're weak but when you find them in great number, it's whatever- there's always tea. I enjoy brewing up 100 cinctulus and drinking it. feels about like 2-3 grams of field cubes
As much as I agree that it is unethical to actually take peyote out of the ground or disturb it, I would still like to see some pictures if people see them out there! I don't think just looking for/at them is wrong or illegal.

neighborhoods are still great places to find cinctulus, especially upscale neighborhoods.

a lot of the specimens I am finding are quite large for this species

good luck to all my fellow texans they are definitely out there in abundance

Texas is huge, man.
From where I live; you can drive in 300+ miles in any direction, still be in Texas but in an extremely different environment. I wish we had Houston weather, here. Oh god, I wish we had it!
