Houston. It's the perfect temp for cincts. I find the most cinctulus in January-February, when it gets down into the 30s-40s at night

You're like me, used to central Texas weather/mushroom conditions. but, like with most states, move towards the water; find more mushrooms.

In case no one has seen my solo thread.

Gymnopilus Hopefully these will be scoped to species soon.
 Volvariella bombycina

 Marasmius?
 Leucocoprinus birnbaumii
Chlorophyllum hortense delicious, I've had so many this year.
 Marasmius siccus
 Marasmius
 Mycena
 ???
 Boletus
 Auricularia

 Omphalotus illudens
 Chorioactis geaster Babies
 Marasmius

 pisolithus arrhizus
 ???
I'm guessing Clitocybe. they range from tan to light purple. and sometimes share similarities with Blewits.
 Marasmius?
Found this one after a very heavy rain. At first I thought Pluteus but it definitely wasn't growing from wood- Did seem a lil' like some thing in the Agaricus xanthodermus group...size, pink gills, sturdy ring. not sure, the rain ruined the cap.
 Lentinus tigrinus
 Polyporus arcularius
Tanks for lookins.

Thanks! And don't they!? Deer eat them so I'm guessing edible, but they are like leather to the touch.

I live in the d/fw area and have been trying to find a local mycology group that does group hunting, not for any psychoactives per-se but just to educate myself better and find, if I can, edibles to cook with. I have noticed at least 25 different species of fungi in my yard alone in the past couple days and I have a mushroom encyclopedia that doesn't answer me when i ask it questions about what I'm really looking at. Is there anyone out there who can direct me in my quest to learn more??? Thanks to all for input!

Your Marasmius is Micromphale.
The second Marasmius is Tetrapyrgos nigripes.
??? is Lepiota.
Second ??? is Gymnopus
Suspected Clitocybe might be C. brunneocephala
Your Pluteus-like thing is an Agaricus.

Thank you Alan!
Tetrapyrgos nigripes! Now I have a name for them! I wish I had taken more pics, they are beautiful mushrooms.
I've considered brunneocephala for for my "Clitocybe" but I did not think that species occurred outside of California and kind of assumed it was at least a west coast species.

They are Chants. They are the only ones I've ever found in Austin, too.
After the flood a ridiculous amount of debris (mainly oak leaves and cedar duff) got washed into this small depression containing lots of Junipers (conifers). One small cluster was quite visible, the rest were well hidden under all the duff in their perfect micro-climates.
I think the puffballs were C. cyathiformis. they have kind of a pink hue when young.

One more reason I wish i was into mushroom hunting when I lived in Houston.
How would you describe their flavor? The red ones that is.

Stumbled around some new hunting grounds and it proved to be a great spot. Gyms were plentiful and found on oak and pine
