Hello All
Well, i spent most of the last few days trying to find more actives, but, all the patches that i know of (not that many),have stopped fruiting. Maybe a few, but it's defiantly packing up for this season (even with the rains we had 7-12 days ago).
Also, went to new places to try and find new patches, but i couldn't find any.
here's pics of the habitat that i was looking in, am i wasting my time in these places?

This is all i found

I know what you're thinking!!!

Anyway, yesterday i started thinking (after not finding anything) that i really don't need anymore. based on what I've got, i can trip 5-6 grams weekly until the end of January next year. And as i really want to give my body a really good rest, I'll then have 3-4 months with no shrooms in my system (ready for next season).
Can't wait for next season, i won't be repeating the same mistakes i made this year ( I'll make new ones )
So that's it, no more hunting for me. Although something tells me i might still get the urge to look for more, I'll see.
i Just want to thank everyone that helped me this season and replied to me. i would not be where i am today without the help of these people;
My two good friends, without them, i wouldn't even know that shrooms existed. Thanks for everything
also, my knowledge of all things shrooms, has increased because of;

Also thanks to all that made posts on my recent id post
Mostly thankyou to Nevermind and Obtuse. without both of your help i would not know what i know today
Lastly i had a trip last night. I had 6g (lemon tec'd)
It was a great trip i started by chucking on some music, and then got a strobe light video playing. i defiantly had audio effects thanks to the shrooms, but no real visual stuff (colors on pc looked amazing still). the strobe video helped though. I'd recommend trying it yourself while listening to your fave tunes.
Anyway, i started thinking about alot of things, this site, that friend that i lost, the great people on here, getting caught for hunting, and other things. I was happy, and thought that this was the peak. Next thing i know, i go up another level, which i wasn't prepared for, so feeling the urge to go to the toilet, i quickly made it there and as i was starting to trip out, i looked at my body, it seemed i was double the size!!!!, i looked elsewhere and had a strange focus (far things looking close). i then did what i always do i jumped into bed and covered up. also turned off the music, cause i started worrying that the cops were outside!!!. i prayed about stuff, and thought about how i needed to change my life.
eventually left the bed, and the peak had passed. i now wish i kept it together. I think it was the unexpected rise in the trip. Gonna try same amount next week, but if i don't handle it, i think I'll just have to stick to 5g.
I've got 8g left in a bag of chopped up shrooms, i know this might be a really crazy idea, but thinking I'll trip it all next time (lemon tec'd).
I'd leave notes for me to read while going crazy, to remind me things, just in case.
don't know, really gotta think about that one.
Concerning these finds;

I've tried and tried and tried to find them, but i just can't. i know roughly where they should be, but the dense habitat makes it very hard.
I still haven't sent if off the print or cap to anyone yet, but will try to soon.
I'll let you know when a positive id is made.
Thanks again everyone for all your help and patience with me, this is my first year hunting and major use of a forum.
Thanks and good luck with finding what's left out there
also Thanks in advance for any replies to this post
until we meet again

Your first couple of habitat shots look alright, but it looks like the surrounding vegetation might be a bit too dense. Also looks a tad bit dry.
Are you North or South? We're still having a bit of rain and some good frosty nights down South but the season has definitely slowed down quite a bit.

This is the only sort of area in the bush I would bother looking. Lots of bracken ferns and moist grass plus it's not too dense which makes searching a lot easier. I've never really had much luck going into the bush apart from this one area.
Even if you can't find anything now it's still good to get out and look for potential spots for next year.

Hello whale oil lamp
it's good to see you around
8 grams? if i do? I'll probably never do it again, still gotta think whether to go that far, could get very very crazy.
About the tolerance factor, if i didn't feel so down so often, I'd probably have a good month off, and then resume on a weekly basses. It was the tripping 2-3 times a week earlier in this season that really cause the magic to disappear a bit. but am finding now that once a week is ok, still not what it could be, but it'll do. that's why i want a couple of months off after i run out, ready and fresh for next season
hope your friend is ok
2g is ok, i just don't find i get the audio effect that a larger dosage gives, hence the larger dose. At 2 grams, what kind of trip do you experience?
one thing i am looking forward to is tripping in different places, i don't always want to be in my room listening to music. something like spending the night out just staring at the stars, stuff like that
Hope all is going well for you whale oil lamp see ya for now
see ya guys, it's time to make some changes in my life (I'll still be around, but im happy to stop hunting now)

Blessed, if you are after visual hallucinations, mckenna style is the way to go for sure! I generally meet my ancestors on high doses, get operated on by aliens and have spirit guides rambling in my ear. However I do often have to walk through the valley of the dead before I reach them. I find if the shrooms are done for entertainment too often, they pull back and it is merely a chemical reaction and not fun at all.
I would suggest preparing in advance fast for 6-8 hours make your tripping room completely dark and sit or lay on your back on the floor, with your mouth open ready to yawn, completely still, wait and observe.
However tempted you may be, to move as the peak arrives, resist this temptation which doesn't last long and then the shroom will open up it's full glory to you
Star gazing is cool too
whale oil lamp. I am sitting on the edge of my set dangling with this by the end of the last trip on the 2nd last day , he co what happened???
and wowo I didn't realize so many people in tas contributed to this thread, moist areas with ferns are the way to go and of course woodchips which are always ready to accommodate some spawn

yodel fellow hunters, been lurking around on the forum for a while and have recently been on a few hunts in north in the past few weeks i know its kinda late in the season, this has been a first for me after hearing about a few likely locations and seeing other images on the site i just went for a explore, here is a few images of what i found, i know the images are not great and the examples are a few days old which is less than ideal for ID// but any input would be muchly apprecieated!// i have also included a image of a mushy i bought home just to watch grow.... all mushrooms where growing in what im pretty sure is horse dung..
anyway peace

hey fbgm
dung lovers are inactive in Tas, could be psilocybe coprophila but that is inactive too.
They look nasty to me! I'm sure someone will come along and give a proper id of them!
Keep researching Dude!
and welcome to the shroomery!!!

Lazy day on the puter.
It's definitely slowing down everywhere but in the right places I am sure you will find a couple or two still popping up but to start hunting and have a good chance of getting it right, May is the best time of year IME.
Keep posting your pics for id's, remember they need to stain blue when damaged. At first everything looks active but when you do find them you can't mistake them for what they are!
And your looking for woodlovers!!! Check out all the Psilocybe Subaeruginosa pics
Goodluck!

Today was my last hunt of the season. Was hardly anything out there and I don't think it will be worth looking anymore.
Got a few nice sized ones and a few pins.

I've got about 130g dry saved up so that should be more than enough to last me until next season.

Just in time for the new year, though id better post these pics before 2012 ends.
A friend of mine who lives on Bruny Island found these Psilocybe semilanceata growing on his lawn on the spot where we park our car when we visit. We have concluded that perhaps its my fault
They were found in mid August, and given that i have been finding them during april/may, i was was quite surprised when he told me.
but the photos speak for themselves:

They were growing in long grass around the base of a small dam. nice and moist and well shaded.
Enjoy, and all the best for the New Year.
Only 4 months to go to the Tassie season.

Dude, that is awesome those are such chunky libs. I have always heard rumours of libs in Australia, but I dont think I've ever seen a photo, especially not a photo of such chunky awesome specimens. I've heard that they can be found in NSW also in fields. Whilst living in the UK I picked many libs but have had no luck in Aus (havnt reaally tried)
Anyways PROPS!
