windows xp tablet edition

I'm helping a friend refurbish laptops for some extra cash and currently we have like 15-20 fujitsu t - series lifebook tablet pc's to work on among others. Our problem is the copies of xp tablet edition we have either won't install right or the other doesn't accept the key on the back of the computer. Does anyone have a copy of windows tablet they can make an .iso of and send or know of one I can download that works and doesn't have viruses? If anyone has an actual xp tablet disk they'd sell we'd gladly buy it!

if that is the version of windows that came with the laptops, and you're trying to use the key on the back of the laptop, you will probably have to do an offline activation/phone activation with microsoft... from like control panel/system i believe there's the option to re-enter the product key, do that and when it rejects it hopefully there will be several options, one of which is phone activation... select that and follow instructions

didn't know you could manage an OS on a tablet since a tablet OS is made with a certain interface that allows all tablet based applications to be installed and run as apps. But I was just looking at this
apparently you can just go to settings and turn off usb debugging and then connect your tablet to your computer and bam you can do whatever you want. As for activation key yeah that's windows realm I got over windows activation tiresome shit. You have a working activation key or not or you crack it somehow. For windows 8 I've never installed anything but the beta, best of luck

tablet computing actually predates the iPad and Android tablets you know today....

Fuck yeah. In the late 1990s, there was plenty of talk about tablet pc's in e.g. C't magazine, a German publication about the latest and greatest of personal computing. They obviously didn't take off back then; in fact, I only came across someone actually using a tablet-like computer in 2005 or so. I think it ran a normal XP version (probably Professional).

I'm using one of these ATM: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c02141614&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0002
Mine has a core i5 M 520 @ 2.4GHz x 2.4GHz, 80gb solid state, 3gb ram, I even have the docking station and it's all under warranty. My bud I work with picked it up and I had to have it, only paid a few hundred for it. He said right after he got it he broke the screen and had to call in for repair, HP sent someone to him and they replaced the screen on site. He said the only reason they do that is because it's a buisness laptop and not really meant for the regular consumer. I love this tablet, one of the nicest computers I've owned... My bud said HP will send someone within 48hrs to do any repairs, usually in 24 though. It's a big step up from the netbook I picked up when I got out of jail... gave that pos to my lil sis.
Finishing up an HP 2710p tablet to sell atm, almost done with it, but the pen is broke and we gotta replace it. HP has much better support than fujitsu or acer, so this hasn't been to bad to work on... plus my restore disks for my 2740p have had most of what I needed, the rest I was able to download.
I found a windows disk with xp pro sp3 and it also says it's also for tablets, it installs, activates, but the fucking pen doesn't work... it's not the pen or the screen. If I install the hacked version I have that I can't activate everything but the activation works great. On the install from the dell disk I don't get the onscreen keyboard or any other tablet functions. I'm having the same issue on an acer notebook/tablet pc too, everything works on the hacked copy but not with the Dell disk.
I will say that the pro sp3 disks are Dell disks but we use them all the time on any brand of computer or even custom builds with no problem. Only difference is that with Dell computers you don't have to enter the activation key and on any other brand/custom build you have to enter the key. We've never dealt much with tablet pc's in the past, we had a copy of windows xp that was 32 versions in one disk that just doesn't install any more, very frustrating...

Windows XP Tablet Edition is a tricky beast. I haven't dealt with it in a LONG time, but they did some really messed up shit with the licensing. Based on experience with other MS products from that time period, I would be inclined to believe you have a retail CD but the keys on the tablets are most likely from a different licensing scheme. Think OEM vs retail, for example you cannot use a Dell restore disk with a key from a retail version of XP and you cannot use an OEM Dell key with a retail disk. I've heard claims that there were no retail versions of XP Tablet, but this is not true as I've come across them.
