The pyrimid of emotion
    #1746012 - 07/24/03 10:41 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I've been trying to create a visual reference for emotion this is what I've developed if anyone wants to chip in feel free.

The 3 corners are Pleasure, Pain, and Work, the center of this pyrimid is void (nothingness, or without the 3 corners)

Pleasures: Man plus Man bondage, M,W plus family bondage, M plus W bondage, Sex, Bliss

Work: Farmer, Doctor, Potter, Hunter, Fisher, metalworker, Inventer, Writer, Preacher

Pain: Physical Injury (Direct plus Indirecct), Emotional Injury, Fear

I'm creating this so that I can develop an art portfolia based on all aspects of emotion.

Isn't there something like this already? Something like the emotion wheel.

Is fear an emotion?

Pain: Physical Injury (Direct plus Indirecct), Emotional Injury

Work is not an emotion, its an action or lifestyle.
Physical pain is not an emotion, although it can bring emotions of anger or sadness.
There are many emotions, and a pyramid has 4 corners. One at the very top, and the three that make up the base.
But get the gist of what you are trying to do.

What emotion would you have at the top of the pyramid, the point in which all faces of emotion would connect (minus the base of the pyramid)

I think there are too many emotions and extremes to fit in a pyramid, maybe a diamond would allow for more detail and order.

Please post some of the art you develop :-)

I see what your talking about, but I'm talking about a french pyrimid or arete,
in this existing pyrimid I have made a couple changes,, if you could imagine two 3 d triangles one facing up one facing down connected at the base, you can see that the void stretches from extreme anti energy to the apex of of energy, and that the points stretch around through this geometrical space intertwining,, I have to disagree with you about work though,, work is an emotion it is a general emotion of responsibility and meaning to life, everyone works whether they are getting paid or not, they strive towards something or nothing at all, but they do produce an emotion I label as a work emotion, sublabled into all work categories I could think of, a general thought scheme, that happens during the day.

Uhm, a pyramid has 5 corners...
What you are describing is a triangle...

uhm, a pyramid has 4 corners.

A top corner, and 3 corners of the bottom triangle. Or maybe I'm mistaken with my shapes (geometry is my math weakness).

P.S.
Work is a catalyst for emotion...as are most settings. But then you get down to the nitty gritty to define work. Is it.... to survive in nature? To survive in capitalism? To simply fill a void of boredom (like mebbe Bill Gates' grandchildren sittin on fat inheritance)?

The egyptian pyramids have 5 corners because the base is a square. If the base is a triangle you get a tetrahedron, which is the simplest of the five possible regular convex polyhedrons in 3-dimensional space (the platonic solids).

Why not use 'motivation' instead of 'work'?
