What's the definition of birthing? And what i'm taking in is that you use vermiculite to grow your mushrooms on aswell?

I'll probably end up doing this It cost me alot to buy the spores, if it doesn't work i'll resort to begging for a syringe from an aussie off these boards (hopefully that turns out well) but at the momment, i'm rather desperate to get this to work as planned.
Baking your verm before inoculation is a waste of electricity .. dunk n roll baking is for after your jars colonise and you birth em.. before that it dosent matter because your going to sterilize your mixed sub before you inoc ..
I never said putting the verm in the oven before inoculation ..

Birthing is when you take a finished cake out from the jar.

Okay, i see.
So after birthing i'll put the finished cake into a larger container, is that all there is to it? How should i store the container, are there any guides which explain the process after birthing?

Haha, those videos are so old. However, they're professionally done, i don't have time to watch them all now but i will get around to it before i go making more threads.
Is there also a sub-forum where i could buy syringes/spore prints off of local aussies?

Vermiculite is sterilized when it's manufactured so there are very little mold spores in it. Vermiculite that has been exposed to the open air for a long time that may have dust buildup in it for sure you'd want to pasteurize or sterilize before use, even for a dunk and roll.

Verm out of the bag should be pretty sterile, but verm that has been left out in the open air might have cought a contam or 2.
But even then you are rolling fully colonized, contam resistant cakes in it.
In BRF cakes, the cakes are steam sterilized for 90 minutes after mixing, so then you have sterilized the verm twice.
And when using in a bulk sub you pasteurize it anyways, so whats the point?
Not saying not to sterilize it, that's just my opinion on the subject.

Not to seem rude but you definitely need to read a lot more on this website and watch them vids, this hobby takes a lot of patience, I've spent a good 100+ hours on here reading and whatnot and I haven't even birthed my first cake yet.

I don't think it's normally an issue but say you had a sack of vermiculite sitting open in your garage for a year and did a dunk and roll where it's not getting sterilized or pasteurized as it would during substrate preparation, there would be not just a lot of mold spores and mycelium fragments that got trapped in it over time but possibly live microscopic mold colonies growing in the dust.

What live mold colonies thrive in a bag of bone-dry verm?

Not on the verm specifically, on the dust. There's all sorts of organic stuff in it they can thrive on when the humidity gets high enough to allow it.
