Such blind communistic nonsense wrapped and masterful language as mr Chomsky is known for is still ignorant of the historical reality he denies.
you gotta be fucking kidding me. you obviously haven't read the books and your opinions of chomsky are based on reviews made by the same asshats responsible for this docu. quit being lazy and use your eyes for reading instead of watching.
whatever, continue as you are. i know you will.
Just as the occupy movement blindly cow tailed to the very socialistic agenda that the current administration advisers laid out long before getting in power, Chomsky refused to accept that the Communist agenda was behind the bloodbath that took place before and after American occupation in Cambodia. Instead he blamed America for the atrocities.
Now this occupy movement called for No War, free college, financial equality. Then proceeded to smash small business windows, rape women in the tents, attack innocent bystanders. They claim there were no jobs, all the while farmers around the country begged for workers to help harvest their crops, many of which went to waste.
I think the whole fiasco from beginning to end was a waste. As for the smug hollywood supporters, who themselves were 1%, chiming in as if they sympathized with the latte drinking, laptop tweeting, protesters, what a joke.
Actually I got a funny story about that, I have a friend who works to help round up chickens for slaughter, generally has to hire people from labour placement companies. when occupy vancouver took place and he heard about all the people down there bitching about not having jobs he drove his van down there and offered same day pay to anyone who was willing to work for him... didn't get a SINGLE taker.

This whole chumpsky nonsense is pointless, but there is no reason to use ad homonym attacks against fellow shroomist simply because they mention a movie that shows another side to the whole occupy fad.
Suggesting that they somehow can't or don't read because they watch docs is unnecessary. If you watched it and didn't like it just say so. I refuse to follow this red herring any further.

I knew there was a reason I've always liked you Pris, you catch the smallest of lapses in logic, then kindly state what should be obvious, but often isn't at first.

what was really great was all the post production work that Kalle Lasn put into the shit, when the initial turn out was only a couple of hundred he started photoshopping protests from other countries and posting them around the net to make this movement look bigger while calling on people to get the word out to all the hipsters that there would be free wifi or what ever ridiculous claim he made to generate the crowds a couple of weeks later, then all the crap with claiming all these other protests around the world were in support of Occupy and the TrueBelievers® sucked up
the whole thing was a con to make him more money via viewership

I think lots of wealthy leftists don't care about the ramifications of a socialist system they are already wealthy so even if they pay more in taxes there bottom lines are far more secure than the average worker who will essentially be trapped with taxes and regulations. Socialism would create far more wealth hoarding and class stratification than capitalism ever could.

Creating a (larger) public system of dependence will only pull more money out of the private sector.
I could maybe see wealthy individuals lobbying a socialist government for huge subsidies, but other than that I don't see how raising taxes on the rich and redistributing wealth is going to cause more extreme income inequality than our current mode of crony capitalism.

If you think the tax code is bad now just wait until we have an even more extreme socialistic style one. The wealthy will take advantage of deductions and government connections to pay less. And I don't disagree that we have crony capitalism in place in the US cough bank bailouts. With a larger public sector however as is the nature of socialism and the endgoal of occupy wallstreet the average person will be screwed.

I don't understand how any opportunistic wealthy individuals would influence a change from our current system.
let the government subsidize the poor, we won't pay many taxes if any, and the consumers will do their part because wages are at historical lows. And don't even get me started on Citizens United, the lobby industry, etc.

Do you know why Andrew Breitbart died?
Because his heart was just too big.

a lot of the protesters were paid, professional protesters, some included older people like the old woman that was pepper sprayed, she was in a couple of different protests, both times making sure she was sprayed and that everything was caught on camera
