I don't think that's necessarily true. At least, I know it's not for me. I'm very much introverted, but I prefer uppers. Actually, I think my introversion is a major factor in my enjoyment of uppers because it allows me to feel truly different, while downers kinda just reinforce my sober tendencies.

I've never had a decent 'downer' experience. Unless you count dissociatives as downers.
And as for uppers, I can't really say I like them. I mean, amphetamine is all fine and dandy in moderation but most of my friends that use it are becoming or already are fiends so I try to keep my distance.
Weed, Mushrooms, and LSA are where its at. (for me)
Not up or down... Just extremely sideways.

Puppy uppers all the time! If I do a drug(s) I want to be up and at 'em. I don't do coke as much anymore (it's all cut to shit anyway here) or speed (definitely not knowingly, it's usually in my "X" ) so I stick to MDMA, MDA, Sativa, DMT, LSD, Mescaline. I don't want to be down ever! I don't do much of anything anymore. Soon to be rare. I got to start nursing FTW! I will pick my trips very carefully in the coming years. Stocking up on the 6-APB for a few years stash. That stuff is VERY nice to me.
Extremely social and extroverted kind of person here. But to regroup my thoughts and re-energize I need my alone time.

If I wasn't so concerned about the neurotoxic effects I'd definitely go with uppers just cause its more fun to fuck and mix music etc. But I'd have to go with downers cause they don't feel unhealthy.
Also I don't get a comedown from downers cause I'm already down and I too like to vegetate and melt in chairs and shit.

The comedown from uppers is just something I won't deal with anymore, with uppers I feel good for the first 30 minutes then it feels like worms are eating into my brain like that Pink Floyd song.

Downers.. I'm naturally wired, uppers don't do a lot for me, because I pretty much feel like that all the time when I'm not on something.. I don't like it, either. That naturally wired state comes with severe anxiety issues as well. I'm plagued by terrible panic attacks.
I'll snort a couple lines of coke or something if a friend has it and is offering, and I've only ever bought it myself once or twice (and both times it wasn't just for me).
I'll do pretty much any downer though, without thinking twice. I KNOW I'd be addicted to heroin if I started doing it, so I've set that boundary and I will never let myself cross it. I had a couple oxycontin once, one of the greatest highs I've had.. Good thing I don't know where to get it regularly.

I prefer downers in general. Stimulants stronger than caffeine are unpleasant for most of the high for me, as has been mentioned by others in the thread.
