People have told me my whole life that I laugh a lot and have a very distinctive laugh. When I am the most in touch with this, it seems that I have a type of magnetism that attracts people to me.

Do you feel this laugh is a spiritual laugh or a cosmic laugh? is it the laugh of God so to speak?

It must be the laugh of god because most of the time I don't even acknowledge that I'm laughing until someone tells me how much they love my laugh.
I guess I've always been a bit different from the prescribed version of normality though. I remember being a kid and people always asking me what I was thinking about as if I needed to be always thinking about something. I always thought this was funny and never really knew how to answer that question. It seemed like it almost troubled people sometimes though.

The whole notion of Laughter Yoga. I drive around talking and laughing allot by myself.
Ha Ha HoHoHo and then LOL made me crack up with you. I really experience my own laughter as healing allot of the time so I totally know what you are on about.
Then the greeting with laughter was awesome. I want that.

That is funny... after years of meditation, psychedelics and all kinds of spiritual practice... I have a quiet mind and not many thoughts... and life is easier this way... is this what you mean? a quiet mind?

yes. I think as a child I had a very naturally quiet mind. It was only by the peer pressure of society that I learned to be otherwise I think. Maybe this is true of everyone?
Finally learning to clear it all away again. To realize my true self, not this suit of clothing that society would like me to wear.

“Stop thinking, and end your problems. What difference between yes and no? What difference between success and failure? Must you value what others value, avoid what others avoid? How ridiculous!
Other people are excited, as though they were at a parade. I alone don’t care, I alone am expressionless, like an infant before it can smile.
Other people have what they need; I alone possess nothing. I alone drift about, like someone without a home. I am like an idiot, my mind is so empty.
Other people are bright; I alone am dark. Other people are sharper; I alone am dull. Other people have a purpose; I alone don’t know. I drift like a wave on the ocean, I blow as aimless as the wind.
I am different from ordinary people. I drink from the Great Mother’s breasts.” — Lao Tzu

when you get good at it you can laugh at someone's joke that's not funny, but you will sincerely laugh at their joke, and help remove the suffering as they get the joy from getting you to laugh.

Truly finding the cosmic giggle in everything would seem to require a certain lack of empathy in some situations, methinks.

No... this humor has unbearable compassion.... Why add to the suffering? Why add to the suffering? Isn't there enough already?

My point is that some situations in life are so unbearably painful that to laugh at them only mocks the participants' suffering. Would you have laughed or giggled during the Newtown shooting, or the Jonestown massacre? I would agree with you that light-heartedness and the ability to laugh at the absurdity of it all is probably essential for one's happiness, but the ability to show respect for the pain of others through a serious demeanor is also crucial IMO.

But I think one can inwardly aknowledge the absurdity of it and the cosmic humor and still behave outwardly in a way appropriate to the situation so as not to cause suffering to others. Tact.

Is is truly possible to actually experience the cosmic humor of some events while still retaining complete empathy, though? I mean, literally, do you think you could stand on the grounds of the Newtown school massacre while inwardly smirking at how funny the death around you is in a cosmic sort of perspective?
I think part of being fully human is in intellectually being able to recognize that everything is absurd while still feeling unavoidable sadness or grief for some senseless acts of violence. Otherwise one's behavior leans towards to the sociopathic, no?

maybe that's your societal fear of being labeled a sociopath getting in the way of really letting go?

Maybe only sociopaths are truly enlightened, being wholly free from the restricting chains of societally-engrained morality & empathetic weakness?

i think this particular type of laughter is used as a reenforcing method where there is already said positivity-not like, when someones passed away and someone is mourning.

Laughter yoga. I don't know about this man
Ok let's get rolling with it. On one hand we have humor. Things like comedy, satire, parody, standup comedy, Monty Python, WKUK and so on. Awesome funny people and art forms that result in natural laughter, cheery and wholesome. Stuff that works.
On the other hand, we have what people would do in Communist China, if they were ordered to laugh, had no reason, no imagination nor any jokes at hand, and a gun to their head. Laugh, peons, LAUGH!
Why would anybody in their right mind want that instead of actual standup comedy? Do tell.
For people who dig laughter yoga: [LAUGH NOW. HA HA, HO HO HO]. Awesome, glad it worked for ya.
For the rest of us, here's some nice WKUK to hit the spot right:
