I had never heard of plumeria before, I'm going to have to find some to see what it smells like. They are very pretty trees.

That reminds me of the lilac bushes here in Ohio. For one week in spring the flowers blossom and the look and smell of those bushes are so exquisite. To bad the blooms don't last a month.

I looked up Balboa park and I must say that is a sweet park, I'd love to visit it someday. The tree you mentioned is a gigantic banyan tree and it's a beauty.

I came to my parents house recently to see one of my favorite trees that I used to climb as a child with everything gone, stump ground out completely. It was damaged in our most recent ice storm here in upstate/western New York and was considered a liability by the city. They kindly replaced the tree with a new one still it its early years, taller than me but very thin. It's not the same I don't have any memories with that tree. The one thing I'd like to say about that tree in its memory is that it was first of all very easy to climb and sit on a limb in the summer, and it also was the place where my dad saved (or at least tried to save) a bird that had a broken wing. A great tree it was!
